Some magic by Walker sets up Wellbeck who finishes! 1-1!

    Could have been offside, mind.

What are you watching it on TL? The Sky coverage isn't too bad.

Are they also mentioning the various clogging the Spanish have done as well. Danny Sturridge should probably have had a pen in the first half IMO.

    And Wellbeck equalises :D

18 - 18 of Mancienne's 25 passes were played to his defenders or goalkeeper. Unambitious.

England's most technical player on the pitch scores. #fightfirewithfire. all started with Chris Smalling #manofthematch.

inclined to agree with both sentiments there.

I have no idea. When Spain play unambitious, negative and defensive keep ball everyone laps it up.

Evidently Spain should have been more clinical in killing the game off with a second goal. Lucky to get a point. I hope the equaliser doesn't paper over the cracks.

1-1 good result in the end.

Smalling and Walker were superb. Welbeck also worked hard and deserved his goal.

Cannot have Rose and Mancienne in the first XI in midfield again.

Spain bossed that match but could not get the win!

Phew! Considering the game I am happy with a draw. I thought Walker looked dangerous going forward, he just needs to work on his final ball when in a dangerous position.

If we win the next 2 we go through!

    Re: England U-21 Discussions Thread #5 [R]

Well not really. Taking off Rose and Mancienne helped England a lot, they were out of their depth.
Spain also took off their striker to play keepball which gave them a lot more possession at the cost of having nobody to get on the end of a final pass. It's just a different way of shutting up shop.

Too predictable like our last team in 2009. The positives are that we still have talent in this team. Much more than last time imo. Just not in certain areas that are quite important.
