Wonder if we'll call up CHO to give him a confidence boost after his struggles.

 

I don't think he deserves it. It's not like he's just been frustrated in the final third, his defending, work rate and all round play hasn't been there either.

Southgate will want to ensure that certain players are fully integrated into the squad before Euro 2021.

There’s only really Foden and Greenwood that are new to the set up though from Man City and Utd and even they might benefit more from a rest.

September’s internationals are a good opportunity to get a look at fringe players and give players still involved in CL/EL a rare break.

 

I recall the days when ManU bought a new player they were suddenly called up to the England squad
