But in that hypothetical situation, if the FA management took the captain away from Sterling through no fault of his own and due to some sort of vicious attack from certain media outlets, how do you think that would look?
Chalobah, Gilchrist, Madueke, Palmer and Gallagher start for Chelsea. Castledine, Dyer, Bettinelli, George, Sturge and Acheampong are on the bench. No English starters for Spurs. Skipp, Maddison, Moore and Austin on the bench. Lots of youth tonight.
Konsa, Rogers and Watkins start for Aston Villa. Kesler - Hayden, Iroegbunam, Wright, Munroe, Kellyman and Young are on the bench. Soglo is on the bench for Marseille. Smalling starts for Roma. Abraham is on the bench.
Palmer should have scored that even if it’s on his weaker foot, had time to see the ball coming. That’s a bad miss imo.
P#@s poor again from Spurs. Thank goodness we no longer have to rely on them to service us with ready-made England players, like we did when Poch was the manager there. I just hope he can turn things around at Chelsea and stay in the Premier League. We really need top quality coaches who are invested in giving game time to young English talent.
That’s another set piece goal conceded by Spurs. Not really surprising considering big Ange doesn’t care much about set pieces. If I was a Spurs fan, I think I would be a bit concerned. Great header by Chalobah though.
I’m going to close this thread. We are duplicating comments a bit. Head to the Euros thread to discuss the England national team. As long as it is senior team related it should go in there. https://www.bigsoccer.com/threads/uefa-euro-2024-england-tournament-thread-r.2130283/page-5

Kind of an odd person to single out since we nearly won the Euros with him in goal who also saved a pen in that shootout.
Hamann is always a bit all over the place with his observations. Probably just says things for a reaction.

Basically what makes an eventual super league (or something similar) pretty likely imo. Juventus can't even spend £40m without offloading assets these days.
The Sancho issue is his wages which are £300k a week. You have to take both the initial fee and the wages into account when considering the real cost of a transfer.
Unlikely in the UK. No Goverment would be willing to allow it and get the blame - once they made their intervention in 2021 they will always have to intervene now. Spanish and Italian clubs maybe.
🚨⚒️ Understand West Ham are showing concrete interest in Max Kilman, centre back who’s highly rated by Julen Lopetegui. Not an easy deal as Wolves want to keep him but West Ham are now exploring this option, contacts started. pic.twitter.com/ScxxqSkBmF— Fabrizio Romano (@FabrizioRomano) June 18, 2024
