Hugely impressive interview by Gordon. It's refreshing to see a young player so focused on what he wants to achieve in the game and so in control of his physical and mental wellbeing. lf anyone is going to get the absolute maximum out of the talent they've been bestowed with, it'll be him. Jadon Sancho, watch and learn.
Jadon has won trophies, played at Major International tournaments, played and scored in the later stages of the Champions League. Is the youngest and fastest player to 50 Assists in Bundesliga history. He's achieved a lot in his career to date, his time at Man Utd has been a disaster. I think he's got a lot out of his talent, maybe not as much as you or others would have thought, but he was brave to leave England at 17, he can certainly learn though and I think we may see him back to his best in the next 2 or 3 years.
I hope so, Regis. I really believed Jadon was going to hit the same levels that Jude Bellingham is punching out right now. For all his natural talent though, we've had enough reports of poor time keeping, playing computer games until silly hours and fall outs with managers to suggest the application doesn't quite match the ability. Sure, he's achieved a lot, but you can't help but feel he could have achieved so much more.
White, Rice and Saka start for Arsenal. Smith Rowe, Ramsdale and Nketiah are on the bench, Gilchrist, Madueke and Gallagher start for Chelsea. Chukwuemeka, Dyer, Bettinelli, Sterling and Chalobah are on the bench. Palmer is Ill and Chilwell is injured.
Football is a strange sport, last summer clubs in league 1 and league 2 turned down opportunities to take Alfie Gilchrist on loan. Tonight he starts against Arsenal.Game of opinions— TheSecretScout (@TheSecretScout_) April 23, 2024
🗣️ - Van 't Schip: "Jordan Henderson is back, he completed the full training session. Steven Berghuis is out for the game vs Excelsior but did train with the group again, so that's a good sign. Hlynsson is out for a few weeks. The rest will be there." pic.twitter.com/gW4Kq0mNKi— 𝐀𝐅𝐂 𝐀𝐉𝐀𝐗 💎 (@TheEuropeanLad) April 23, 2024 Jordan Henderson is BACK! 🔥 pic.twitter.com/pkTUM0YGjC— 𝐀𝐅𝐂 𝐀𝐉𝐀𝐗 💎 (@TheEuropeanLad) April 23, 2024 I still think he has a chance of starting at the Euros. I hope not.
Danny Mills on Talksport is saying he is hoping England can find a holding midfielder so Rice can play further forward.
Classic reactionary take. Rice is a solid option in a box-to-box role when needed but if Arteta had an 8 he could trust I highly doubt he'd be playing Rice there. It's a testament to his well-roundedness that he can be serviceable in that role but in no way should he be pushing up the pitch for England when we have the options we do for that role right now. He's simply not cute enough in the final 3rd and it becomes glaring when they face better sides/very resolute black lines. He has unique defensive abilities so it feels very counterproductive to put him in a place where he can't best utilise those.

I don't see it, the squad increase might save his position but he's very close to that Kalvin Phillips "unpickable" zone. The only thing really saving him is he went to a much lower level so he's been average rather than outright bad like Phillips. Still between form and now injuries I think any chance of him starting will have passed.
It depends on if Southgate thinks his experience is worth having on the pitch vs gambling with someone like Mainoo or Trent.
Well that's obviously one of the questions, not exactly groundbreaking analysis. Southgate will also have to decide if he's fit enough/hasn't regressed physically and is capable of playing at the level.
Chelsea have no plans to entertain offers for Levi Colwill this summer. #LFC have had a historical interest but no approach planned this window. PSG interested, and have made contact with Colwill's entourage as part of normal due diligence. Both clubs aware of #CFC's position.🔵 pic.twitter.com/6dtVdqAXqH— Ben Jacobs (@JacobsBen) April 23, 2024
