Palmer just said he’s the designated penalty taker so I guess that ends that debate and good for him for standing his ground.
Palmer rashford saka Gordon foden Grealish kane toney Watkins Bellingham maddison. I really don't think there's a better set of attacking players in world football.
It comes from a squad that don’t particularly like one another. Whenever Chelsea score you can tell fhen the majority of players see their teammates as just colleagues and not friends. Man United has obvious squad tensions as well.
🚨 Pochettino: “Palmer is the penalty taker. It won’t happen again, can’t behave like kids again”.“It’s a shame. I told the players this is the last time I will accept this type of behaviour. This is not a joke”.“Again, very clear. Cole Palmer is the penalty taker”. pic.twitter.com/cH93tCS5rY— Fabrizio Romano (@FabrizioRomano) April 15, 2024

Gallagher playing that role for Chelsea alongside Caicedo until the end of the season would really help his England chances. Not that I am saying that club role translates positively to Southgate’s England system and approach.
You can tell they aren’t friends? Feels more like too much individual petulance because of a lack of leadership in the squad.
Another great weekend for English footballers, Palmer scored 4, Eze scored, Watkins scored, Solanke scored, Gordon was fantastic, Gibbs White also looks a player knocking on the England door and will surely be signed by someone if Forest go down. Also Rover was right, Wharton looks every bit a PL player and in a position England need options, surely will make a breakthrough into the senior side at some point in the future.

Sancho putting in a similar performance to last week. Again, he's still got far to go to reach his best level but there's no denying there's real promise here. Physically he looks night and day compared to how he did at United and it looks like he's regaining his confidence. Whether he sustains it/continues to improve remains to be seen.
It will be interesting to see what happens to him this summer. Can Dortmund afford him? There are still rumours Man United are trying to sell him to Saudi.
