Juventus are lining up a move for Manchester City's out-of-favour England midfielder, Kalvin Phillips, 27. (Mail) Newcastle are also weighing up a move for Phillips in the January transfer window. (90 Min) Brentford manager Thomas Frank has said he expects 27-year-old England striker Ivan Toney to remain at the club past the January transfer window. (Standard) Frank's claim deals a blow to Arsenal and Chelsea, who have been touted as admirers of Toney. (Mirror)
Nketiah, White and Ramsdale all on the Arsenal bench. I wonder if White will be more reluctant to extent his Arsenal contract now he is slowly falling out of favour. (This means Wolves have more English starters than the team their playing in Arsenal.)
Nketiah came on 67th mins and White came on 79 mins. Ramsdale unused, Rice played the entire match and Saka was substituted in extra time,
Looking forward to watching this game but as a side note, the channel I’m watching it on in Sweden have Luke Shaw down as Portuguese
Bellingham very much getting the Saka treatment from Ancelotti. Wish Madrid would bring him off more in games they’ve got wrapped up, especially given Ancelotti said himself that Jude’s tired and is nursing ankle discomfort.
As much as I rate Trippier at right back but I have to say that I think Livramento is better than him at left back and Southgate should really look to getting him in the next squad.
Will be interesting to see if he does. Also going forward Will he take four full backs? Or will he only go for three with the fact the likes of Guehi and if selected Trent can cover.
Rashford’s form is getting to the level that if doesn’t improve by March he will very much relying on his past record to justify being selected.
This is what frustrates me, football is about form and not what you did last season. If his form doesn’t improve then there’s little justification to include him when others like Gordon are in far better form.
The Telegraph are saying Sterling has been effectively retired by Southgate and speculating that Walker, Maguire, Henderson, Trippier and maybe Stones will all retire next summer.
I’m not sure what combination Southgate will go with but he has to also have an eye on the future and there will be no sympathy if we end up losing players like Livramento and Gordon when they will/are good enough.
It is but then Sterling was mostly awful in the build up to the last Euros and then performed well at the,.
The way things are going he won’t even be starting for Man United and Attacking depth is a lot stronger than what has kept the likes of Maguire and Phillips involved during periods of not playing.
Nick Pope off injured now. Sadly it sounds like it might be a serious shoulder injury - he missed an entire season with a shoulder injury before.

That has got to be one of the worst ways you could frame a tournament draw. Our media are a disgrace!

Southgate hasn’t even had a realistic chance to call up Livramento yet though. Also, Gordon is challenging for very competitive roles. If they both keep up their current form (big ask) they will be picked next year. I would be amazed if they were not. People were saying the squad was almost decided a few weeks ago and chances would be very slim. Then we got new caps playing and impressing. Same will happen next year and the eventual standby list will be very youthful.
