Gordon will be in with a chance, not sure how much Bowen's poor performances when he was called up will be held against him (not that really anyone looked any good in those Nations League games). I'd be a bit surprised if we don't see a few more of the under 21 winning squad given a chance this break. We don't really vary September squads much given the season has just started but the October squads usually see a bit of change. Jones, Gordon, Gomes should all have decent chances. Probably a break too soon for Ramsey.
🚨🔵 Ben Chilwell expected to miss the next 2 months due to hamstring injury. He could return in December but it’s not guaranteed yet.🇪🇸 Blow for Poch but Chelsea coaching staff have also appreciated Cucurella’s performances, training best way. I think Southgate himself has forgotten all about those nations league matches, From his comments last time Gomes seems like someone he would only call if there was an enforced absence and as it stands Rice, Bellingham, Phillips, Henderson and Gallagher are all available. Same might apply to Jones. Gordon might get in because of Eze being absent. I doubt he will do it but he should rest Saka in November. 🗣️ “It’s always an honour to play for your country and I want to do that as many times as I can.”Ollie Watkins says his end goal for this season is to make the England squad for the European Championships. 🏴 pic.twitter.com/V33topa0eF— Football Daily (@footballdaily) October 3, 2023
I agree, the Under 21 lads deserve to be in there ahead of the likes of Bowen and Ward-Prowse, who had their chance and simply didn't take it. I'm really not convinced that Gareth Southgate is easily going to forgot the underwhelming display of Jarrod Bowen in the 4-0 loss to Hungary. Nor would it surprise me if Southgate selects a similar 23/24 to the September fixtures. After all, there are enough questions surrounding fringe players like Foden, Trent, Colwill and Gallagher - and the positions they should play - to make the Australia friendly a fascinating watch.
Are Foden and Trent fringe players? Their position might be debated but to me fringe players are the ones who might scrap in the Euros or might not. Could just about apply to Trent but does anyone think Foden is going to miss out?
Fringe players. Reserve players. Non starters. Whatever you want to call them, I wouldn't expect them to be in Southgate's first Xl for the Italy game.
Probably not (Through if Saka needs a rest Foden will be in) I wouldn’t say anyone who is not in the 11 is automatically Fringe.

Saka and Rice start for Arsenal in the CL but White and Nketiah are dropped to the bench and Ramsdale remains the bench, For Man United Mount and Rashford both start but Maguire is on the bench. Curtis Jones is set to serve a three-match Premier League suspension after an appeal to overturn the red card he received at Tottenham Hotspur on Saturday was unsuccessful.— Liverpool FC (@LFC) October 3, 2023 I wonder how this will affect his England chances. Will miss two of the three PL matches between the upcoming squad and Announcement the November one, If he gets called up on Thursday might be a first making your debut during a period covering a league suspension.
I think if Southgate was planning to call him up then this red card won’t have affected his chances of being in Thursday’s squad but if he wasn’t then he’s got very little chance of getting in until 2024.
At this rate Ramsdale will probably only get domestic cups and the Brentford league matches (First match back after November break and two weeks before the March one As Raya is technically on loan.) The only CL match he might get is the last group match if Arsenal have little or nothing to play for.
He’s growing into possibly the best in the world and fast He hasn’t got Zidane’s magic .. nobody will ever match Zizu
