Yeah, he had a good game against a side that were outmatched quality-wise but we’ve seen how different things are under more stressful circumstances.
I think Tomori is just one of those players where Absence from the league makes a player seem more exciting than they are.
The only teams they got past in the knockout stages were Porto and Benfica, after being beaten home and away in the group stages by Chelsea, who finished 12th last season.
Thats Semifinalist then. So Newcastle looked average against CL Semifinalist which you would expect being that its there first time in the CL for 20 years. P.S you forget about Spurs and Napoli
I think with Tomori people just can't seem to accept that he's a brilliant physical defender as we saw last night but that at the same time he's pretty poor on the ball. He protected Milan's high line last night effortlessly but England rarely play that way against capable sides under Southgate, whilst a lot of our games are against smaller nations that sit back.
He deserves more of a chance with England but will effectively be choice for Southgate from Maguire, Guehi, Dunk and Tomori to partner Stones and it will be Maguire.— Henry Winter (@henrywinter) September 20, 2023
Henry Winter pretty much every week proclaims a new player as someone England need to build around or have in the team. Then he forgets about it and moves on to whoever else is flavour of the week.
Ramsdale on the bench again. If he doesn’t start Sunday in the North London Derby then we can clearly say he has been relegated to Second Choice no matter what Arteta says.
Bellingham is absolutely fabulous.. still odd that he was a dud against Ukraine though when he’s been amazing before and after that game
Matty Cash on Ezri Konsa's new deal and speaks very glowingly: "An incredible player. I speak so highly of him. Everyone in our squad knows how good he is."I cannot believe he is not an international player. He's one of the best Premier League centre-backs, for sure." #AVFC— Jacob Tanswell (@J_Tanswell) September 20, 2023
