Our head coach will be giving an interview on Talksport Breakfast at 1am. Doubt he talks at all about his current job.

    Thx,

    Jay!

Having him sit in LA for a season to make sure he doesn’t miss the cafe culture has to be worth a few Garberbucks.

Over on Reddit, those poor fools think this is an upgrade. What happened is we got a guy we sort of wanted 2 years ago, who is now 2 years older and played on a not very good defensive team last year. Deck chair, better upholstery than the Alfaro deck chair, but a deck chair nevertheless.

Better than sitting on cinderblocks, which is what we have been doing, I say. Truly good defenders are hard to come by. We're probably overspending, but I'm not sure what good value looks like now, unless you're developing the players.

I feel like this one is simple when you realize that not every signing is going to be full of sizzle and set the world on fire, and oh yea, it's only November. 11th. You can debate the business of selling at one price and buying higher, but it's not like we paid 2-3x what we sold for. In the end, we've upgraded one piece of the puzzle. Be outraged when he's starting a third or more of the games and owning responsibility for chances or goals against being created every other game. Until then, expect that better is yet to come and this guy is a better option off the bench.

    Birnbaum-Williams partnership = wooden spoon

I hope the team is looking to upgrade a hit more.

I thought that Birnbaum's contract was expiring and needed to be renewed for him to stay?

Any hope that Hines-Ike will be able to come back next season - even at 90% of his previous form?

No big surprises on any of those roster moves, though I do expect Ochoa to be back.

I wouldn't be surprised if they sell Robertha and Romo to open up more international roster spots, since they currently sit at 8 internationals, with rumors of the Iraqi LB and a DP midfielder still active.

How TF can they justify keeping Miguel Berry? He's the first player I would have cut.

Actually he's a Swedish citizen, his choice of Iraq for NT is a Justin Meram type of thing. Of those "cut", I would speculate there are attempts to re-sign Ochoa, COA. Guediri and B. Smith (maybe). The rest are deck chairs or deck chairs that are internationals (deck chair that you can't get spare parts for).

Ochoa is a must-sign imo. The only keeper outside of Hamid that has looked the part in a decade.
