Emerson Hyndman continues to get rave review from people watching FCD youth games. But he's not going to move abroad any time soon. Give it a couple of years.
But can he get a passport from an EU country so as to avoid various work permit rules? He doesn't have the caps to get a work permit and play for Newcastle and yes, I'm bored and just messing around and not being serious...
Guys, I binned that odd, spammish post about some Algerian kid as well as a few responses. PS. Feel free to report off the wall posts like that in the future. Helps us stay on top of things since, contrary to what angry PMs to mods often assert, we have a life outside of happily abusing our power on BS.
He's made the roster for a US U15 camp at Bradenton: http://www.socceramerica.com/article/40752/us-under-15-boys-national-team-roster.html
He's also not a Yank Abroad. I know there are those that when visiting Dallas might think it's in a foreign country..............but it is actually part of the United States.
"If you ever get the chance to go to Dallas, take it from me, pass it by. Because you'll only sing the blues down in Dallas. Take it from me, don't go and cry." That's obscure for you.
I've wondered if Schellas will be going all out to keep his grandson in-house or still would support a move to Europe. Anyone know? (I realize this is decision is years away, just intriguing given the relationship)
Hes now listed as a dual citizen of the USA and Portugal, so a move to Europe might be easier. http://ussda.demosphere.com/teams/27484436/27484636-27484529/19591758.html
He was offered a spot at Fulham and turned it down last year so I'd imagine it's the first one at least for now.
I thought that the Fulham thing was common knowledge? Didn't realize that hadn't been reported but yeah he went and played for a Fulham youth team and was offered a spot, but this was over a year ago I think. He's also played/trialed or whatever at Liverpool and Sporting Lisbon. With FCD being as good developmentally as they are, and Hyndman being like 13 at the time they chose to stay in Dallas. Plus as others have said it's just way way too early to judge anything until the kid develops physically. There's all the talent in the world there right now, but IMO Dallas is exactly the right place for Hyndman to develop and in a few years we can start worrying about Europe or anything professional.
Hyndman would also be available on a free. With what I saw from FCD's U19 team yesterday (pretty much dominating Barcelona in a 3-1 victory)..............Mallorca should just send their general manager down there with a bunch of contracts. Mallorca's weird. Despite being in financial bedlam for years, they're going thru one of the most successful periods in the clubs history. They've been in La Liga for 14 years........and finished 5th in the 09-10 season.
That's a good result, but from what I understand, they played the Juvenil B team, so kids who were 16 and 17-years old. There are lots of different Barcelona youth teams and this was one that was basically playing up a year or two if they were playing against u-19s.
