I happily stole that line from the Venture Brothers, a show that to this day has some of the greatest quotes.
Yaccarino says . . . https://thehill.com/homenews/media/...accarino-elon-musk-advertisers-go-f-yourself/ Yaccarino appeared to support Musk’s sentiment in a post on the platform hours later. “X is enabling an information independence that’s uncomfortable for some people. We’re a platform that allows people to make their own decisions,” she wrote. “And here’s my perspective when it comes to advertising: X is standing at a unique and amazing intersection of Free Speech and Main Street — and the X community is powerful and is here to welcome you. To our partners who believe in our meaningful work — Thank You.”
I mean ... what else is she gonna do ? It's either that or might as well send int her resignation letter.
What the hell is in Yacca's contract? Or does Musk have pictures of her snorting blow off a prostitute's ass?
Yep She spoke after Yoel Roth had delivered a powerful interview about the death threats and abuse he received thanks to Musk and she proceeded to give the most graceless, shameful, toadying reply, before going on to lie about the company - then the interviewer totally wrecked her I can't really think of a more inept tech interview when you consider the quality of people who've been on stage at CODE - it was almost comedy it was so bad
Junky Tonka Truck is out And here's Eel's Spotify Wrapped Elon's Spotify Wrapped is on point pic.twitter.com/OOOkMfICPL— The Daily Show (@TheDailyShow) November 30, 2023
Man, for the next month people are going to chatter endlessly about what they listened to on Spotify. I don't do Spotify.
The thing I took away was he thinks blackmail is people not wanting to advertise on his platform anymore because of his dumb toxic a$$. It's not blackmail to advertise on X/Twitter. It's capitalism.
right? He was also mad all over again about NYT not paying for his 'content creator' features But it was the same thing all over again. Rather than develop a good product and market it to the power users like NYT, he openly antagonised them, called them fake news, banned some of their journalists - then wondered why they didn't buy it.
My guess is the dumb stunts around the Cyber Truck launch obscure how much it sucks as a truck. e.g the bullet proof thing - who really cares about this as a feature? The dumb staging vs a Porsche - if I want a truck, i want power? From what we've seen, Truck absolutely sucks offroad
I posted Orosz upthread and here is another good one from inside tech. The obvious conclusion is that Musk simply does not want ads from Disney, content from NYT & Taylor Lorenz etc etc “Musk is throwing in the towel on ads. I don’t like to play psychotherapist to billionaires. I also do not think Elon Musk is “crazy.” Whether he’s wrong is an open question. But it’s clear he’s tanking X’s ad business because he believes it does not align with what he sees as the mission for the company. That leaves the question of why he brought in Linda Yaccarino as a CEO an executive who is known for her ad sales prowess. Never a great sign when the people you’re trying to sell to are urging you to quit. Expecting Musk to not say something outrageous that aggravates ad buyers is the definition of insanity.” https://www.therebooting.com/p/message-recieved
Yacc will be out as CEO soon IMO. But that's been obvious since she was called CNO onstage at CODE (CEO in name only)
EVs having superior acceleration to 'regular' (even sports) cars is nothing new as well. I remember a Top Gear episode from ages ago in which they put an EV up against a Lambo, Porsche 911... That was so long ago I'm pretty sure it still featured the trio of Hammond, Clarkson and May.
It's been quite a while since I've been concerned about my auto being able to go from 0 to 60 mph in 3 seconds instead of 10. My big Honda Ody gets to 60 in about 6.5 sec...of course if I floor it I get about -2 mi per gal.
Offroading is tricky, but a Cybertruck is not something I'd want to use. The design alone just has me skeptical about the whole thing. The clearance especially has me concerned. Related note, a friend of mine has used his Mach E for getting around rural Kentucky. He said as long as certain roads aren't terrible (IE. caked in mud and flooded) it'll do fine.
That's not really how advertising works Yacc apparently did call in favours from her rolodex but i don't think any serious brand is just going to given them money as political charity
