He’s Rupert Murdoch’s guest at the Super Bowl.

    Such a pathetic narcissist.

Elon Musk Is Making Sure You See His Tweets
After Elon Musk threatened to fire his remaining engineers at Twitter because he said his own tweets were not being seen, “they built a system designed to ensure that Musk — and Musk alone — benefited from previously unheard-of promotion of his tweets to the entire user base,” Platformer reports.

“Roughly 80 people were pulled in to work on the project, which had quickly become priority number one at the company.”

The Verge: Twitter is just showing everyone all of Elon Musk’s tweets now.

Brutal...... Won't be surprised if this man-child goes after the author on twitter.....

The amount of time I have spent speculating over the psychology of Elon Musk is time I will never get back, worthless time, especially since it’s becoming clear just how much I was overcomplicating things. Does Musk actually believe humanity is imperiled by “woke mind virus,” or has he just figured out a button you can press to get the little ants to do their little ant dance? Does he really believe he is changing the world for good, or does he just want a playground for his billionaire friends?

The theory I’ve come around to is the simplest one: Musk is a boy’s idea of a rich man. That idea is an Aqua Teen Hunger Force-themed Trapper Keeper’s worth of giddy, hormonal, four-soda fantasies: Fast cars, spaceships, pretty women, phallic jokes, dog memes, superhero costumes, adoring fans, rich and/or famous friends, “hardcore” underlings.

Yet more reinforcement (not that I needed any) that shutting down on twitter account a few months ago was a wise decision.

Let me guess... true to form, he'll accuse the author of being a pedophile.

A couple things have been happening to my Twitter feed. First, the "For You" tab is just a stream of MAGA crap -- it's Musk using Twitter as a bully pulpit for right-wing sewage. Second, after being inundated with Musk Tweets I blocked him. So far, it's working, but I have no doubt he will tell his engineers to write code that prevents his account from being blocked.

Some decades ago in school one of the readings were about some of the worst business decisions and business collapses. I don't think Twitter makes it because it is so bizarre there are no real business lessons to be learned from it.

Wait, this is some sort of revelation?
I just thought it obvious that EVERYBODY thought this of Elon Musk, including Elon Musk and his underlings.

My wife checked her Twitter feed last night for the first time in a long time.

She has never tweeted anything. She started it for professional reasons--she's a nurse and works as a nurse educator. She ONLY follows other nurses, community college faculty, and instructional methodology experts.

    And yet...

...last night, she logged in for the first time in months, only to find that her feed was nothing but spam and unsolicited propositions, mostly sexual in nature. She was completely baffled. I reminded her that Musk took over Twitter since the last time she looked, and she said she expected it to not work so well but still can't figure out where all this spam is coming from.

    He really ********ed things up.

I keep getting QVC type promotions, like gadgets for the house, to clean, to cook ect.

I guess those are the type of companies that twitter is getting to replace those that left.

    Better than nothing for them.

The fact that Musks internet friends are ratboi and catturd tells you most of what you need to know.

Space Karen is a plague. I acknowledge that every Tesla bought is a gasoline-powered car not bought, and that SpaceX has made launching satellites cheaper. But I don't think those things are sufficient to offset the ways in which he's made the world worse, nor do they get him off the hook for his narcissisticly abusive personal behavior

Why are you still using Twitter?

For that matter, why does anyone still use it?

If you're still using it, is it because Space Karen is right about you?

I have no doubt that her email addresses were inundated with nasty sexual insinuations and rape threats from Space Karen's fanbois.

I use it as a news aggregator and follow some specific non-political accounts. It's actually useful, you just have to put in some work to keep the feces out of your timeline.

If you have a suggestion for an alternative that provides real-time news/info from multiple outlets in one timeline, I'm all ears. I've tried Mastodon and it doesn't work for me.

I genuinely miss that aspect. Also, I do some work/volunteering for local Democratic party activities, and not having a Twitter account makes it harder to keep up to date on what's going on. I was much more in-the-loop on what Virginia Democrats were up to before I deleted my account.

By far the worst thing is any climate benefit he has sparked by speeding the pivot to EVs is being offset by his bizarre support of political actors who try to stop climate action. It's pretty clear he played the climate card as a scam.
