    Most others in the squad come either from the first division reserves and the second/third divisions.

    First of the two matches is currently in play. First half ends 0-0.

    Side note: Former national team member Giovanni Trigueros is coaching the U20's due to Alfaro's current commitments with the U21's.

    Goal to US/ES at minute 90+2. Scored by Carlos Aguilar, who had just been subbed in.

    Side note: Aguilar is not officially part of the US/ES team but a Salvadoran living in El Salvador who asked to be given some game time.

    Turns out to be the last play of the game. Match ends 1-0 to US/ES.

    From what i heard on the radio it seems the first half was pretty even with US/ES doing more defending than anything else and the U20's really failing to get out of first gear. Second half saw the U20's attack a lot more and create numerous chances. Unfortunately the US/ES keeper had a really good game and stopped anything from going in.

    Aprovechando la visita de un combinado de salvadoreños que residen en Los Ángeles, EE.UU.; la Sub 20 de Giovani Trigueros jugó el domingo un amistoso en el estadio Mágico González. Un juego que pintaba parejo favoreció a la visita 1-0 con gol de Carlos Aguilar (90').......

    The second and final match was played today and ended 4-0 in favour of our U20's. Goals were scored by Irvin Herrera (2) and U15/U17 standout Ricardo Guevara (2).

    Side note: This match included Fidel Jimenez who had been unable to play in the first game. It was still missing a few others that weren't brought in for these matches though, due to it being used moreso to look at new players rather than being or strongest/final squad.

    La gira de un combinado de salvadoreños de Los Ángeles, EE.UU., por nuestro país, terminó con un último amistoso. La Sub 20 lo derrotó 4-0 ayer en el Mágico González.......

    Guillermo Rivera, asistente técnico de la selección sub 21 que estaría en los Juegos Centroamericanos y del Caribe Mayagüez 2010, señaló que habría que empezar a ver al combinado sub 20 que tendría su eliminatoria a finales de año.......

    Joining Rovira in the U-20s is Arsenio Rodriguez from Vista Hermosa, which according to El Grafico has 1 gol in 180 minutes played.

    Also, La Azulita probably won't have any new opponents between now and the start of the UNCAF tournament, and there may be a problem getting players from the second division.

    Mauricio “el Tuco” Alfaro, técnico de la selección nacional sub 20, aseguró que de parte de las autoridades de la FESFUT se le solicitó una modificación en el plan de trabajo que inicialmente tenía para encarar la eliminatoria de UNCAF en Honduras en diciembre próximo, para buscar un boleto al premundial de Guatemala de CONCACAF a inicios del próximo año.
    Debido a que el certamen de Apertura de la segunda división comprende jugar domingo y miércoles para cumplir con los tiempos de competencia, Alfaro tendría que trabajar solo días por semana con los seleccionados sub 20 que, en su mayoría, pertenecen a equipos de la liga de plata. En un inicio, el mundialista de España 1982 había solicitado trabajar de lunes a jueves con este combinado menor de cara a la primera fase eliminatoria para el mundial que se jugará en Colombia el próximo año.

    I've always said/thought that Mario Rodriguez Vista's coach, should be involved with the development of young talent in El Salvador. He is a knack for finding and developing young talent. Whe he was fired/left Vista all management did was bring a bunch of old players...once they brought him back on board the first thing this man did was bring a bunch of younger guys fromthe second division and now they are back in contention middle of the board team. When he got Vista to the first division he did it with a bunch of young guys which in turn gave him a national title. Now he discovered this kid Arsenio Rodriguez and has a couple other younger talents in the team that I wouldnt be surprise if they are called up eventually...Get this man involved at some level with the Federation - ala Pekerman in Argentina or Thomas Rongen in the USA they have an eye for finding local talents.

    Mauricio “el Tuco” Alfaro, técnico de la selección nacional sub 20, pretende que al menos a un mes de la eliminatoria de UNCAF, en diciembre próximo, los jugadores cuscatlecos que residen en Estados Unidos Allan Rovira, Dustin Corea, Michael Trejo y Marvin Iraheta puedan unirse al trabajo de preparación de ese combinado.

    Little information on Michael Trejo I was able to find was that he is a defensive player and was called up earlier this year for Los Angeles when La Azulita played Salvadoran-Americans.

    Of the 25 players called up for the U-20 only 12 showed up yesterday. Alfaro wants to count on the players from Monday to Thursday, but since the Second Division has various games on Wednesdays, it may only be a Monday and Tuesday. He also plans on calling up Rovira, Corea, and Iraheta soon. The final list should be posted at the end of October.

    A la Azulita se le acorta el tiempo para preparar la triangular eliminatoria de diciembre próximo.
    La convocatoria de la selección nacional sub 20 que estaba programada para ayer, con miras al torneo eliminatorio de la UNCAF que se desarrollará en Honduras del 1.º al 5 de diciembre, solo fue atendida por 16 de los 27 jugadores citados.Guillermo Rivera, técnico auxiliar de Mauricio Alfaro, manifestó que siguen con los mismos problemas de ausencia de jugadores a los entrenamientos por lo comprimido del calendario de la segunda división, categoría que aporta buena parte de los seleccionados.
