In news that will come as absolutely no shock: I am not associated with MicCheckRadio in any way. I just find their site really funny and had to share this. QUAKES FOREVER!! GO WOLFF!! GO SSV!! fuaeg! fumls! fu-el-lay!!!!!! - Mark
Can we get over the whole NorCal/SoCal thing? It belongs in sports and that's it. Anything more is childish.
It's not a NorCal/SoCal thing--most of us have no problem with San Diego, and it's even farther south. It's an LA thing. Just wait till the next drought, when we're bathing once a month and they're wasting water to wash down their sidewalks. Some of my best friends live in L.A...but it's still an evil place.
I don't think there's anything childish about it.......... its a REALITY & YES L.A SUX ! ! ! ! L.A. FREAKIN SUX ! ! !
How do you think people in the mountains around Yosemite feel about San Francisco taking water? Is it not the same thing? Who cares what line of latitude it crosses or doesn't? Also, San Diego is a red county. I see much more reason to dislike them than liberal Los Angeles.
Not a chance. I think the responses to your post are pretty much a reflection or a sample of the feeling of the general population in the Bay Area (even of those who couldn't care less about sports). It may even reflect some general feelings of people who populate the entire west coast. According to the original post in this thread El-Lay is THE most polluted city in the nation. That's appalling. And btw, San Deigo has always been one of my favorite places on earth.
L A SUCKS!!! L A SUCKS!!! L A SUCKS!!! (fading into jeers as Hartman makes a bad clearance; ah memories)
That water ends up (via the Delta) in the Bay Area whether we "take it" or it comes down naturally from the mountains. We aren't taking it, we are simply following the law of gravity. The unnatural thing is putting that water in the San Luis reservoir and using OUR electricity to pump it over the Tehachapis to LA (did you know that the # consumer of electricity in California is the project that pumps Norcal water to Socal?)
I LOVE IT!!!! Testify my friends! I must say that SF and the peninsula taking water from Hetch Hetchy, the damning of Hetch Hetchy, the loss of a beautiful and unique place, was and remains evil. We are not blameless. We are far from perfect. Nevertheless, El-Lay SUCKS!!! Have you seen the Colorado River lately? Neither has Mexico. El-Lay has drained the Owens Valley, the Colorado, Tulare Lake, and they'd drain Mono Lake if only they could get away with it. I understand that people have to live and work somewhere, but how about trying to be a little responsible? If you live in a flaming desert, you should darn well be careful about how you use water! If you live in a basin, you should try to restrain your pollution. No sorry, El-Lay sucks in every way shape and form. San Diego is a nice place to visit, but there's too damn many Republicons down there. Full disclosure here: The east side of my new home town, Vancouver, WA, is loaded with right-wing, narrow-minded, religious fanatics. Nothing against religion, but jamming your religious views down everyone else's throats is not the American way. (These folks are opposed to Library funding because people might surf porn sites on the Library internet terminals.) In an interesting, and I think related development, most of the porn shops in town are also on the east side, and certainly the biggest of the porn shops. So, I've got some work to do on my neighbors. QUAKES FOREVER!! GO WOLFF!! GO SSV!! fuaeg! fumls! fu-el-lay!!!!! - Mark
Also lets not forget when they had the Northridge quake all monies to rebuild the freeways down there was fast tracked with the help of the northern California assembly members who were looking out for our fellow Californians but when the bay bridge and cypress structure collapsed in 89 those SoCal scumbags in the assembly didn't want to help pay for our repairs up here. Next time LaLa land crumbles let them rebuild it themselves. LA SUCKS!!!!! PERIOD
Eh, I'm not entirely sold. Greater (ha!) Los Angeles itself may not be a great place for us since we already live in a great place, but they're not all that different in lifestyle. I know plenty of cool people from down there. They aren't Texas or anything.
