Yeah, I genuinely don't know much about their youth talents but I hear good things. But as far as first team breakthroughs it's pretty much just been nacho thus far
Age is going to be a factor very very soon. We have a number of starters that are almost 30 or past 30. When a player hits 30 there's a fair chance that they won't be able to start in 12 months. We need to have replacements lined up for Per, Kos, Monreal, and Giroud, plus the depth to replace Arteta, Flamini, and Santi. The squad is old and needs a number of sets of fresh legs just to maintain our current top 4 level.
I don't know about best but they were indeed good. Losing the QF to 'Pool sucked. For me nothing compares to losing the QF round vs Chelsea with the Invincibles. That was the year they should've won Europe.
Fed up with BOFF because we ain't gonna be able to get the best out of either one for whatever reasons
I form an opinion, based on facts, then when/if facts change I change my opinion. It's a novel thing I'm sure but yea thats how i roll. I'd sell everyone on the team including Ozil frankly but what do I know. The one person who needs to go ain't going so this discussion is really a matter of which square peg into round hole is gonna work. Because we can sit here all day slandering various players but until the coaching/manager changes we'll be here next year berating the "Whipping boy dujour" so there's that. Or are you saying that all these players all these years just got worse because they're bad?
i know his body language is never good but, man, you can sort of see him not being particularly thrilled with being alongside sanchez. just . . . ugh.
offensively, gibbs is not "great" but, think, if we are going to put iwobi out wide left, gibbs is the better fit. iowbi does a better job of bringing the fullback into play and monreal is better playing deeper instead of overlapping. he is neither comfortable overlapping nor does he have the footspeed to really recover if/when the ball is lost.
Wenger on Kanté: "I can't tell you anything. He's under contract. If Leicester sell him, they'll find buyers." Pretty interesting comments from Arsene. Seems to me that he may bid for N'Golo. With Xhaka's deal still being rumored (Bild yesterday rated the move as very probable),going for both players would mean a totally revamp MF. Is that likely, I would not bet on it but stranger things have happened.
Do not want. What I want to figure out is what our front 6 would look like. All these 3 man midfields are great but how do you accommodate Ozil? Can we play a 4-3-1-2 in the Prem? And how would it fair in Europe?
GTFOH........ Would we have these two, that would spell the end for Ramsey as a CM. Actually, It would be Xhaka-Kante as CM with Ozil as the 10 with Alexis and an other winger on the right (or the left).
This would work with any other manager except ours because you're forgetting that that midfield would sit deep. Who would link the deep mids to Ozil/front three? How has that worked for us recently? this would be the same trash we see now a huge chasm and two mids who can't build and link. Unless El Nenny plays the Ramsey role we would still need a B2B. I didn't suggest Ramsey cause I have a feeling he's out and/or leaving
Actually, N'golo is not a typical CDM and plays much higher up the pitch. His twelve lungs allow him to run up and down easily. He is more a Matuidi than a Coquelin for that matter. With Xhaka as well, the transition will be faster and more precise.
Interestingly, yesterday Wenger said this about Ox, while commenting the player's injury "“We invested a lot of time,” he said, “so we will not give up now.” So we can expect that Ox will still be at AFC next year. Theo may be the more likely to leave at this point.
Bellerin's fine. Probably still need a backup though. Good news is, fullbacks tend to be undervalued in the market.
