A 6th sub will be allowed in knockout stage extra time. This match will be shown on CBS All Access. I'm not 100% sure if they are doing a Europa League Golazo Show, but if so, I highly recommend it if you aren't invested in a single match on a given matchday.
What? Is no one on top of this? Just got home from work. Trying to find it. Second half kicking off with us up 2-0 (Lucas and an own goal).
a triple switch on the hour: Dele for Lamela Son for Bale Sissoko for Hojbjerg ... which leaves us with the Winks / Sissoko midfield pair that's been so effective thus far this season.
ten minutes left. still 2-0. Lo Celso on for Lucas a few minutes ago. By all accounts, Moura seems to have had a good game.
and Sonny with the 3rd (84"). another good assist from Vinicius. that should just about do it. I mean ... y'know ... should.
Playing a mid-week game and handling it comfortably while resting Kane for the entire match and Son for 60 minutes, but not having to start a handful of U18s was nice. All things being equal having Harry Kane not completely knackered and on the verge of injury by Feb 11th will be a pleasant change. Not expecting anything, but it’ll be nice to go in to summer without the "if Kane hadn’t been injured …" in the back of the mind.
It was interesting looking at the shots of Harry Kane on the bench. It was almost like he didn't know how to react: "What, we have a striker who can actually play and I don't have to worry about warming up in the second half?" Good cameos from Dele and young Jack Clarke, although it is hard to judge against a side like LASK, who made Southampton's high defensive line look conservative. Somewhere out there AVB is rubbing his hands with glee...
And most important of all for me, 3 valuable Coystradamus points to take me to comfortable Newcastle United mid-table security!
