It was a very well timed, taken & directed header off the corner - nothing sloppy / lucky about it - hope this helps his case to start more matches...

    Barry who???? :D

Beasley needs to get out of the SPL immediately. He's going to get permanently injured in that unnecessarily rough tackling league.

Rangers has been working some very fluid passing attacks today. They just had a 20 pass sequence broken up after a cross.

Another St. Mirren player takes down a Rangers player, this time Papac.

And Dailly is coming on for Papac. St. Mirren have now caused two Rangers substitutions by their "play."

Edu receives a pass outside the box, turns, and shoots well high and wide with his left.

Edu blocks a sure goal for St. Mirren in a goalmouth scramble. BTW Dorman takes the corners for St. Mirren.

5 minutes of stoppage before halftime because of the injuries.

    HT: St. Mirren 0-2 Rangers

Edu has performed well both defensively and in the deep central role in the attack. DMB contributed in the sequence in the first goal before he was subbed off.

By all accounts this is a worse than normal game as far as hacking. St. Mirren is one of two SPL teams with an especially bad reputation. It's also interesting that being a dirty player manifests itself in different ways across cultures. Latin Americans are dirty hacks, hoping to stop time, MLS players don't know how to tackle technically well... so they dive in all the time, Scottish players are brutes (despite being rather small), etc.

    Pot... kettle...

Edu looked good. You could tell he is trying to play the ball much quicker as he said in a recent interview. His passes were on target and he was making good decisions. It's easy to accomplish this though given the level of domination displayed by Rangers aside from a 5 minute stretch towards the end of the half.

Well, if DMB gets to be called brittle, we fans have every right to call the SPL as we see it... with more than its share of flatout hacking skill lacking goons....

Is it just me? Or does Nacho Novo sound like Doritos answer to Chester Cheetah?

Wow, it's a Yanks (and honorary Yanks) scoring fest!

Can't wait to see highlights of Edu's goal. Hopefully he goes out and gets another in the remaining minutes.

Did anyone see if Beasley's injury looked serious? I'm concerned.

I'm rooting for the 'Gers in this one. However, it is nice to see BU product and former Rev player Andy Dorman having an impact.

Full Time: St. Mirren 1-2 Rangers

Rangers escape with 3 points and with only 2 injured players. Mo Edu's stock has to be rising with both Walter Smith and Bob Bradley.

Good job Edu, but only 6,231 attendance. I know it is Scotland and a mid week game, but that's worse than MLS.

It was 78% full. Percentage wise that's a whole lot better than most MLS clubs!! Their stadium St. Mirren Park holds 8,029. ;)

BTW, the stadium just opened up in January. Nice little stadium with some cool character to it. I like the "retro" look.
