First, as I've been preaching, no reason to worry about FFP and now we finally aren't. It's a rule that's not enforced with any real punishment.

Second, I've been saying for some time now it's better to give your core players higher salaries rather than spend the money on transfers (amortization costs).

The only thing a Fonseca / Petrachi team would even be able to win is simpathy, and its cousin pity.

Keeping him and standing by him after his 2 ACL tears and giving him such a high salary when he was the one that waited so long to extend was already a lot of romanticism imo.

Just wait for it. We won't worry about it this season because we just can't fulfill the requirements but my guess is that we'll comply with whatever UEFA wants us to do afterwards again. Take the slap on the wrist and go into some sort of agreement again.

I'd like that too but we already have one of the worst wages to revenue ratios in Europe.

 

We're not "worrying about it" because there is no way we'll satisfy the requirements with the buildup of purchases over the years. This is not some newfound policy of total disregard for it. We'll likely get some sort of reprieve/ lighter punishment with the ownership change, so it's a convenient time to run afoul.

I have praised florenzi when he has had a good game and I have ripped him on occasions when he needed it such as showing a total lack of respect for the shirt as captain when chasing back Ronaldo.
