I'll try this again as a thread of it's own since it was ignored earlier. Anyone out there recording the US prelim games on DVD? I'd love to make arrangements to get a copy if I could. Thanks. If no one has recorded these, sorry for posting again, but I'm desperate.
I didn't ignore it. I just don't have the technological capability to burn DVDs. Would've helped if I could.
I'm working on it. I have a VHS tape of the USA vs Italy match which I'm recording to DVD+R (so the quality isn't great, but better than nothing). A friend gave me a DVD+R copy of the 1992 highlights copied from VHS and it wasn't too bad. I have a friend recording today's USA vs Paraguay match on tivo which I'll master to DVD+R which should be excellent quality. IF the game is actually on. For some reason todays game and the game vs Japan on Thursday are NOT on the Galavision programming grid. US Soccer is saying today's game is at 10 p.m. eastern (as soccertv.com says), however Thursday's game vs Japan is supposedly at 10 p.m. (per soccertv.com) but US soccer says midnight. Both today and Thursdays broadcast are NOT on the programming grid for Dish Netork and DirecTV - they just have news listed. Hmmmm.
I also have DirecTV and noticed the guides are not up to date. Just tune in each night at 8, 10 or midnight eastern to see if anything is on. I know tonight's game will be shown at midnight 'cause at 8 and 10pm eastern, Galavision will show Mexican League playoff games. US' game versus Nippon should be on on Thursday. Again, I'd check at 8, 10 or midnight.
soccertv.com lists the Mexican quarterfinals at 8 pm on Galavision and 10 pm on Telefutura tonight and tomorrow, with the Futsal games on Galvision at 10 pm on both nights. Although he's not ALWAYS right, I believe him on this one.
Changed my mind. You're right. I believe these guys more than I believe Oliver Tse:- https://www.bigsoccer.com/forum/showpost.php?p=3640771&postcount=141
ussoccer.com is saying midnight on Thursday for USA vs Japan. My friends tivoed the 10 p.m. game and it wasn't the USA last night. So I missed their win. Why doesn't Galavision have a TV schedule on their website? I would think it would be in Galavisions (and their advertisers) best interest to let their viewers (and futsal fans) know when a game is on!!!
That's odd. I watched the US game last night ... or should say, recorded it last night and watched it today. Best bet for tomorrow, I guess, is to set your DVR at both 10 and 12.
Best way to REALLY know when they're showing a game is to catch one and once it's over, they will announce the time and date of the next one (regardless of team). I believe tonight's game is Portugal vs Argentina. Galavision said it would be on at midnight eastern, which is technically, Thursday morning or 9PM Pacific which is Wednesday night.
From here on out Sunday games are at 4pm ET, others at 10pm ET. I'm guessing that next Wednesday could also be a midnight, but I'm not sure. The reason that Wednesday games get pushed back is due to the Mexican league playoffs.
Actually, I followed Red Harvest's advice and watched the Argentina-Portugal game (which was on shortly after midnight). They said tonight's USA-Japan game will be shown at midnight Eastern and Pacific (11 pm CST).
B5KoshYou, Thanks for the info on your work. Keep me posted and hopefully we can work something out. SueB, I didn't mean to imply that you guys didn't care, I just wanted to see if I could get a response somewhere else.
i also need the games badly i have a few on vhs love to get them on dvd.anyone can help? anyone have any cuba matches also? looking for all teams any tournments need the 1st two usa matches also vs italia and parguay. if anyone wants i got beach soccer from the past spanish fox sports broadcast i think around the 90,s many games with brazil and usa plus others. i,am stdymphna143@aol.com thanks.
Please don't laugh me off the boards, but what does it mean to "torrent" something? I'm kinda new to anything outside of VCRs!
Bittorrent is basically a file sharing client - along the lines of napster or kazaa. It's mostly for people with fast internet connections - while there are legitimate uses for it, reportedly 40% of the internet traffic is torrents (file sharing). It's primarily used to illegally share copyrighted material like movies, music, TV shows (even HDTV!) etc. Since I can't get NBC and a few other stations where I live, it's been great to download episodes of The West Wing, but I saw an article that the networks are sending out the lawyers to bust file sharers so no more fun for me.
Thanks for the explanation. So, how did your attempt to record the US futsal games on DVD go? I'm still interested in copies if you have them.
FYI, I won't have tapes/DVD's of the USA futsal games until after Christmas. It sounds like I won't have all the games but at least it will be useful to show players and potential league administrators so we can get a "court soccer" league going.
Sounds good, keep us posted of what you have available and when it will be ready. I appreciate your help very much. That being said, does anyone know if there will be an official DVD of the futsal championships produced by FIFA? I'm really looking hard for some DVD futsal recordings of recent competition. I'd like to try to grow the sport in our area and encourage local coaches to consider a h.s. league for serious players to participate in so they can reap the benefits of futsal. We have a local indoor facility that is great, but futsal is valuable to developing players too.
I finally coverted most of the USA Futsal World Championship games to DVD+R, but I'm missing 2 games. Does anyone have these? 23 Nov 2004 USA vs Paraguay 28 Nov 2004 USA vs Argentina I'd love to trade if anyone has these games. I also have many of the USA outdoor games from the past 15 years on tape/DVD.
I might need the USA vs Japan game as well... for some reason my friends Tivo is stuttering during playback when I'm trying to convert it to DVD.
