Here are the dates different players are to report back, to me this suggests that while Tello and Montoya are for now called back we are not expecting them to actually be on the squad (or else they'd come in sooner to integrate / show they belong). But at least they were invited, Song was not even invited back. Also look at Douglas getting extra time off after not doing anything all summer (no National Team commitments):

Montoya and Tello rejoined for preseason on the early side. Not on the later date I posted above. Not surprisingly, part of the reason we are having trouble selling them is that their Barca-signed contracts pay them more handsomely than most clubs can afford. Meanwhile our other unwanted loan out player, Song, it seems we are willing to let him go anywhere with no transfer fee (so basically a mutual recission of the last year of his Barca contract), that would make him a free agent - the equivalent of a player free to sign anywhere on a Bosman (or the sort of sweetheart deal which we allowed Xavi and more recently Alves and Sandro). Terrible signing but don't but that one on Tito as the article suggests, Tito had no say in signings.
