    You be the judge.

Chernomorets Stadium - supposedly 34,164 seats.

Lviv Arena doesn't look bigger if you look closely. Just look at where the cut off for the two sections are in Lviv and in Odessa.

Lviv Arena has 22 rows of seating in the lower bowl, and between 25 and 28 in the upper bowl. Chernomorets stadium has 24 rows on the bottom, and 10 at the top all around. On average that's a difference of about 15 rows. To put that in perspective, the lower bowl of Red Bull arena in US has between 15 and 17 rows, and seats 11,000 spectators.

Dnipro and Lviv have far less general seating capacity around the VIP suites. Look at Odessa's and the suite level (both sides actually) is above the general seating from touch line to touch line. That is the difference right there.

I don't think they would lie about capacity, it would be pretty easy to figure out it was a lie as soon as someone went into the stadium.

VIP suites don't account for 10K seats.
    Ain't that the truth.

I think you misunderstood me. There IS about 10k of general seating in Odessa where Lviv and Dnipro waste precious space for VIP suites touch line to touch line (the area which gives the stadium the most seating). Lviv only have one tier on one side of their touchline. Dnipro has even less than one full tier because of their VIP section. Odessa's VIP suite is above a huge level of general seating, not compromising capacity. Its 34k, deal with it lol :)

it's by far the most beautiful town in ukraine. not holding games there is dumb. real dumb. its got the sea and the best nightlife. people could base themselves there for a week and get a proper vacation. and people and local economy would get mad money from tourists.

kharkiv? donetsk? two f'n shitholes, give me a break.

Let me disagree. Odesa does not even compare to Lviv or Kyiv. Different, exotic, one of a kind - yes. The most beautiful - no freaking way.

kiev - meh. has beautiful parts, yes, but too many other parts are ruined by soviet style dullness.

lviv - beautiful? yes. different? no. pretty standard central-eastern european fair a la slovakia, hungary, czech republic.

    odessa - beautiful & different.

Hmmmm, I'd say Lviv is only rivaled by Prague and Krakow, which pretty much puts it up into the category of most beautiful cities in Europe. Nothing really compares in Slovakia or Hungary.

I've said the same thing as soon as the official venues were announced. A real opportunity missed.

All three cities have enough "soviet dullness". Just go to any "mikro-raion" at the margins. Odesa actually strikes me as meh, outside of several historical areas. Lviv is far more beautiful. And Kyiv aside from the "workers' paradise" areas, is, perhaps, one of the most beautiful cities in Eastern Europe, as is Lviv.

BTW, I have actually been to all three (although, obviously, more partial to Kyiv)

Never been to Lviv, but been several times to Kiev and obviously bias towards Odessa. I will not comment on what is more beautiful as both cities are very different. It's like comparing San Francisco and Chicago.

Odessa has Soviet rayoni, as most cities do. However, there are very few meh areas that one would not like. Again, I'm bias, but out of all Ukrainian cities that did not get any games, Odessa is definitely the one to be missed.

Kiev looks gray and ugly, apart from the religious attractions it doesn't look appealing at all. Lviv/Ivano-Frankivsk/Ternopil/Uzhgorod look like proper European cities. Again, I've only been to Odessa so I;m judging everything by what I've seen on tv, pictures, and from first person accounts.
