New thread, new season. Holla... Hertha lose 0-2 to Swiss side FC Thun in a preseason tourney. Once again, Wichniarek does NOTHING but hit the post once (in a way only he can). Next up, 3rd place match versus Costa Rican side Saprissa.

Re: Der Haupstadt! Hertha BSC Berlin 2005-2006 German teams often loose against Austrian or Swiss teams in preseason-matches because their leagues start 3 weaks earlier so they have a big advantage.
Re: Der Haupstadt! Hertha BSC Berlin 2005-2006 [R] But Hauptstadtclub is obviously a totally different word of a different gender. I take my grammar seriously, you know.
Re: Der Haupstadt! Hertha BSC Berlin 2005-2006 [R] as do I, but I was just trying to give him the benefit of the doubt. Anyway, if anybody is wondering it should be "Die Hauptstadt".
Re: Die Hauptstadt! Hertha BSC Berlin 2005-2006 [R] Yea I Just realized it should have been die Hauptstadt....
Bastuerk out for several weeks...not good news, hopefully he won't be out as long as he was last year. Last year, I remember we were not the same team without him.
Something about his left knee (I'm using Kicker and I don't know German and I can't understand the google translation). He's out for a few weeks, evidently he suffered the injury during training camp.
Re: Die Hauptstadt! Hertha BSC Berlin 2005-2006 [R] Hmmm, Innenbandanriss...a ligament damage maybe? I guess grammatical gender is a bitch if you don't have it in your language . I hope I didn't sound like an ass, btw (sorry if I did, hehe).
Re: Die Hauptstadt! Hertha BSC Berlin 2005-2006 [R] Things are so great for Hertha that you guys are discussing grammar. Hopefully..it is correct now Ordnung muß sein.

any more news about Borgetti? he scored twice today for Mexico against Guatemala. the first goal was great. i think it would be awesome if we could sign him to a two year deal (he is 31). [edit] found it on Kicker. Da passt das Gesamtpaket nicht." translation of what Hoeness had to say is: "he is almost 32, *would require transfer fee* and makes good money in Mexico. The complete package doesn't fit."
Nope, no news. We don't have the money for a class striker, which is unusual because we ONLY NEED ONE! This is frustrating me and I can imagine a lot of Hertha fans, there are plenty OKAY strikers out there, we can't live w/ Wichniarek and Rafael. Why not stoop low and get someone from 2. Bundesliga or Austria's league?
Maybe this could be another pipedream, but how about Ewerthon? Dortmund have told him to leave, he has only 1 year left on his contract, Dortmund need to get rid of his huge contract...we could get him for a very small (for his talent and scoring record) fee and he would be an outstanding acquisition. In other news, Pal Dardai may be on the move to Arminia Bielefeld: Dardai to leave? Too bad, good player, just not good enough though. Solid is a good way to describe him.
