Has anyone finished the Eater of Worlds Raid Lair yet? We're on the final checkpoint, almost had it done last night, but got all the mechanics down and should finish it sometime this weekend. It's actually pretty fun.
So I got it for Christmas, and returned it earlier this week. It's garbage, it's basically a light up speaker that sync's to the Echo. It was constantly unysncing and unreliable. I can still do everything through the Echo.
my buddy did the same thing, he bought it was very unhappy and returned it... we messed around with it once, hoping to again this weekend... we got to the room with the Crystals, before we all had to sign out...
Once you get the mechanics down with the crystals it doesn't take long. We thought we had saved the checkpoint where his outer shield was already down, but apparently we didn't. This time around it took us about 20 minutes to clear the crystals, went by a lot quicker when we knew what we were doing lol.
I feel like they're a bit past the point of no return, and the damage to the once-loyal fanbase has been done.
The sequel basically rehashes most of the issues the original Destiny had before they were remedied after a couple years. I already did all of this Bungie. I don't really want to go through it again.
I played of Iron Banner this week to finish that one stupid ornament, other than that I hadn't touched D2 with a couple characters in about 2 months. Back in the day I was the most active one in my rather small clan, then the clan exploded in size and now I'm not even in the top 20 of active members. They've completed more Raids in the past 2 months than I ever have in both Destiny games lol
And it really wasn't until the Taken King when those issues were fixed. Warmind is not going to be that ... players will have to wait until the September DLC. It'll be a tough sell though, because that won't be included in the season pass, and many will be hesitant to pay for something that may or many not have the draw D1 had in its heyday.
There's a sweet spot Bungie has yet to find in this game. Warmind won't be it. The September DLC has that potential. We have players who say the max light level is too easily reached/all the gear is too easily attainable/they've "beat" the game/there's not enough to do. With Warmind they're upping the difficulty and forcing players to grind out quests, whether it's for the limited-time-PVP-exclusive gun or exotic masterworks, just to name a couple examples. Can't please everybody. Here's hoping Vicarious Visions helps get this game back on the right track.
The campaign is not long at all, and it's pretty ho hum for me. The only reason it's better than Curse of Osiris is because the boss at the end is better.
I take it back, after beating it again, it's just as bad as Curse of Osiris. The last boss is pretty lame. The fact that I can do the campaign, solo, in 2 hours is massively disappointing. At this point I don't know if I want to go through it again with my 3rd character.
I'll agree that the Nokris and Xol encounters should've been more like endgame material, especially the latter boss. Only other time we've gone up against a larger-than-life boss was in the Oryx raid. And maybe there could've/should've been more than the 5 base missions, but the adventures and side quests are making up for any "lack" of campaign, IMO.
I know some people who are loving this expansion, but for me it's just not good. Even with the adventures and grinding quests, I'm not having fun, at all. D2 has been a major disappointment for me. At this point I'm extremely hesitant to pay anything for the September release, which word is could be $40-60.
I'm digging these Resonate Stem consumables and Override Frequency searches. Got a sweet BrayTech auto rifle from my first one - Winter Wolf - as well as a killer ship - Alpha Umi.
https://www.polygon.com/2018/6/4/17426232/destiny-2-forsaken-dlc-fallen-house-of-dusk After beating the Red War campaign in Destiny 2, players are able to return to familiar planets to claim missions leading to special weapons. The mission series on Titan is called “Enemy of My Enemy,” and eventually leads players to the Rat King’s Crew quest line. But before any of that, players come across a Fallen Captain and a Hive Knight in the reactor room on Titan. The Fallen Captain’s name is fairly interesting, considering the fall expansion’s title: Mithrax, The Forsaken. When you come across Mithrax and his Hive foe, you can choose whom to attack. You can kill Mithrax if you attack him first, leaving you to then kill the Hive Knight. However, if you kill the Hive Knight first and hold your fire on Mithrax, he’ll turn to you, speak something in Fallen and teleport away rather than attack. It’s possible that Bungie could be using this interaction with Mithrax to tease the Forsaken expansion.
