Surprisingly, the stats lie in this case as it really wasn't a dirty game. The announcer made a comment that the number of cards did not seem to correspond to the play of the game.

Well it's finally over, we've offically crashed out the the Champions League this season, and the UEFA Cup. We lost 0-1 to Olympiacos. And of course we are the only club not to score a goal. I'm so mad at the President right now..........

    Irureta: We're Just Unlucky

Deportivo manager Javier Irureta bemoaned his side's luck after the Spanish club lost another Champions League match.
Depor came close to equalizing but had a goal-bound shot cleared off the line by Giorgos Anatolakis of Olympiakos.

"We have had our chances but we haven’t had any luck. We could have scored today when Nikopolidis failed to block and his teammate saved," seethed Irureta.

"I can’t say much about it, it’s a matter of luck"

Sigh!!! Don't know what to say except it shouldn't even come as a surprise anymore... :(

The team just isn't into it this year. Our league form is improving but last year's loss against Porto did a lot to destroy our morale in this competition.

Thanks for the acknowledgement in your signature. Definitely agree that Panic is the coolest poster on BS!

Luque started up top again and actually scored a goal! Too bad he hurt a muscle in the 33rd minute and had to be replaced. Let's hope his injury isn't serious other wise we maybe down to our 4th choice striker, unless Pandiani is fully fit.

OK here we go, a useless game to us but a team that we should really want to beat considering what happened last year. Irureta appears to be attempting to motivate the squad, but we'll see just how motivated they are out there...

Not even sure what Monaco's position is in the group and what their chances are of advancing. Haven't really followed the CL very closely this year for some strange reason.....

And those changes need to start with Irureta. He said this loss wasn't an embaressment or shame. It isn't? What fvckin' planet is he on?

I can't believe he said that.......  . Jabo I love you (in a non-sexual way) but it's time for you to go. I think our President must leave too. No new signings for 2 and a half years is ridiculous. Sure Momo and Ruben should return for next season, but where will we be? Champions League? UEFA Cup? Intertoto (sp?)? la liga but with no Europe? la Segunda? (I hope not).

Terrible, terrible result. I guess Pablo Amo was terrible, which makes me want a real center back even more. I'm surprised Mauro Silva played the whole match, good to see him play the full 90.

What a joke our club has turned out to be this season. We can't even get all three points from Numancia at home. A disappointing 1-1 draw. Cesar was sent off Pandiani finally scored but Numanica equalized pretty fast.

3 beautiful points today for the good guys!!!! We beat Espanyol 4-1. Goals from Andrade, Tristan (x2) and Valeron give us three needed points. I think Fran got hurt because he only played the first 12 minutes. We used a weird lineup but it looks like it worked :). I think this is what it looked like:

    ---------------Molina--------------
    M. Pablo-Pablo Amo(Capdevila)-Andrade-Romero
    ---------Duscher----Sergio---------
    Scaloni--------Fran(Valeron)--Luque(Munitis)
    ---------------Tristan--------------

Valeron came in for Fran. Capdevila came in for Pablo Amo, making me think Romero switched to center back. And Munitis came in for Luque.
