    Calling for more troops=draft?
You tried this last time. "Service" was not in reference to the military.
Not all Democrats share the same exact principles. Just because two guys want it to happen doesn't mean all Democrats do. Hell, just a couple weeks ago you loved Zell Miller (you still might), and he is not like every other Democrat. If I'm confusing you, the please feel free to raise you hand.

That wasn't a serious attempt to revive the draft. It was trying to make the point that the military is composed in large part of working-class kids who see the military as their best option for doing something with their lives. And that perhaps if the people who made the decisions to go to war had sons or daughters who might be sent over to fight it, maybe they'd be a little less eager to start wars.

It was working until Bush overextended our resources. We are having problems with soldiers - particularly National Guard soldiers who are having their tours in Iraq and Afghanistan extended. If the volunteer Army was working as designed, we wouldn't have needed so many National Guard troops.
