This gender gap survey suggests that men have become more conservative than women? Or is it with the rise of so-called "populism," the reactionary Trumpist ideology that wants to party like it's 1959, some men have drifted in that direction, but a much larger percent of women are moving in the opposite direction because of this?
It looks like a percentage of change, so it is more like women are becoming more liberal. In the case of England, both males and females are becoming more liberal, but the rate of change for women is higher than the rate of men.
It would appear that bringing Willis into the Wades’ divorce had the desired effect and got Nathan to cooperate. Nathan Wade and his soon to be ex-wife have entered to temporary agreement resolving their divorce. To late to a oid damaging Willis’s FA case, but….. JUST IN: Nathan Wade and his wife have entered into a “temporary agreement” resolving their divorce case — and ending the prospect of further uncomfortable filings and testimony involving Fani Willis. pic.twitter.com/ANYF5uqnMQ— Kyle Cheney (@kyledcheney) January 30, 2024

JD Vance knows better and is such a vile individual. Those guys have showed their true colors.....The GOP is clearly an anti liberal, authoritarian organization. Wow. Stephanopoulos shuts down his interview with Vance and cuts him off after Vance insists that the president can defy the Supreme Court. pic.twitter.com/P2Kn60Jr29— Aaron Rupar (@atrupar) February 4, 2024
Not a fail, more like a warning. John Burn-Murdoch is a data nerd with the Financial times. "American politics is in the midst of a racial realignment." NEW 🧵:American politics is in the midst of a racial realignment.I think this is simultaneously one of the most important social trends in the US today, and one of the most poorly understood. pic.twitter.com/QeRsuMSKaL— John Burn-Murdoch (@jburnmurdoch) March 11, 2024 The young do not feel the strong alliance to the democratic party as their parents do The bond between young Black Americans and Democrats is far weaker than among older cohorts.I don’t think everyone appreciates that the familiar "young favour Dems, old favour Republicans" gradient we see in the US population overall is *inverted* among the Black population. pic.twitter.com/sys5mG5uvD— John Burn-Murdoch (@jburnmurdoch) March 11, 2024 Conservative Browns and blacks are starting to align more with the party that represents those conservative views This anomaly has historically given Dems a huge boost, but it has begun to unwind. In 2012, the vast majority of Black conservatives still identified as Democrats, but that has since fallen to less than half. Latino and Asian conservatives show similar but less sudden trends pic.twitter.com/F6nnM5JWa3— John Burn-Murdoch (@jburnmurdoch) March 11, 2024 Social networks held people to vote for similar parties, as those networks expand (maybe social media) people can look to vote different than their community. In a brilliant piece of research they found that when Black voters with very conservative views have almost exclusively Black social groups, they still vote Dem.But if they have a more mixed social group, the weaker norm for voting Dem lets them vote in line with their beliefs. pic.twitter.com/bUCGf1AJbm— John Burn-Murdoch (@jburnmurdoch) March 11, 2024 This is the scary part, just like global warming, it can reach a tipping point and then just run cascade. And ‘a rapid shift in [voting] behaviour as people who were previously masking their [political] beliefs discover that others hold the same views as they do’ fits well with these charts.Viewed in this light, the size of the shifts in current polling is entirely plausible. pic.twitter.com/FERdM9bv7v— John Burn-Murdoch (@jburnmurdoch) March 11, 2024 This guy may turn out to be wrong, and this whole thing a bit exaggerated, but this could be scary for the Democratic party.
Dude you’ve been making that case in this forum for years and years now. Call us when it actually happens. Not when you find yet another political writer making the same argument, again.
ah, that’s why people of color are quickly and incessantly belittled and insulted with the most vile and racist language (to include here on Big Soccer) can’t have them straying off the Democratic plantation and thinking for themselves
Or Republicans can keep losing everywhere as they've done since the Trump Mind Virus "won" in 2016. My guess is reproductive rights & Trumps criming should seal it for Biden. COVID killed lots of red hats & non-cult Republicans are tired of Trump's schtick.
There is lots of data out there that it is happening. The 2020 election should show that it has been happening with Latino voters. And recent data is showing that it is happening with younger Black voters as well. The numbers are not huge, but as we have been saying, this stuff is won on the margins, and it seems Trump's disinfo is having an effect.
To be fair - Andrew Jackson defied the Supreme Court, and that's how my ancestors got the privilige of naming Oklahoma
I was watching last chance U basketball version and one of the black kids was spouting all this wild pro Trump stuff
I figured this is the best thread for this. " Sen. Bob Menendez, who has been charged with 16 federal counts and accusations of being a foreign agent, will not run for reelection as a Democrat this year, he said. The New Jersey Democrat, however, is still keeping the door open for an independent run." https://www.threads.net/@politico/p...QGzlSizS8-hcZqfEiQjS0GNbznws41z36LRM7eddFmBQQ
lol, yes blame it on Trump, because Chicago is full of Trump supporters. https://www.foxnews.com/media/chica...s-blame-failure-citys-tax-hike-referendum.amp https://www.nbcchicago.com/illinois...ing-chicago-home-pass-latest-results/3388082/
I'm guessing there was outside money behind the campaign, and it wouldn't surprise me if it had some connection with Trump. Nor would it surprise me if Fox News was missing some context. However... in the old days, if the Machine wanted something like this to pass, the machine would have turned out the damn votes to get it passed.
The idea of demographics are destiny and Democrats would dominate future elections depended on 2 things. That Democrats will hold on to their share of the white working class and that Democrats would continue to hold on to the winning margins among Latinos/immigrants. Texas was supposed to be one State that would show this. But as we know, Democrats have been losing the share of working whites faster than most pundits expected, thankfully this has been offset with increased college educated moving towards Democrats in large numbers. The fear that the authors I have posted about is that there are signs that the second part of "demographic are destiny" will also not happen as people predicted, because the Latino/Immigrant share of the vote will become more even in the future. And where are the signs that this could be happening? Well, in Texas.
Trump was convicted last Thursday. I’m really disappointed in how the Dems have capitalized on that. The message is muted when it should be amplified like a Who concert in 1971, and it should be simple and coordinated. 0 for 3 IMO.
Agree. And to the extent they do….it’s commenting on a generic conviction and nowhere near enough on what he was convicted of.
To what extent is the Dem messaging suppressed by the asymmetry of the political media's deference to GOP / MAGA lies? For all I know, the Dems have an effective strategy but can't break through the editorial blockade of Zazlav and the like.
