Oh, I could see RFK siphoning more votes away from Trump than from Biden. There are a lot of conspiracy theorists out there, some of whom vote Trump because they don't have an alternative. Now they will. I mean, we shall see. Maybe RFK would hurt Biden more. But I don't think that is established.
Janice Soprano is one of the most underrated characters in popular culture. They nailed a whole type of person with that character.
Of course. But then they cannot expect to be taken seriously when they later claim that they didn't help Trump.
I don’t understand the purpose of this collection of words. I looked for “see ignored content” in case that would solve the mystery, but that’s not what happened.
That's all in the margins, though. Short of a Bush-Gore type scenario, RFK is not likely to make a difference either way.
I get lots of tiktokkers of Sopranos clips...don't know why The Artie Bucco character was tops too. When he tried to pump himself in a mirror to get courage to collect money from the Frenchman.
Either you vote for the guy who can actually beat Trump or you're objectively pro-fascist. I literally had this conversation recently with a neighbor who hates Trump but thinks Biden is too old and doesn't like Kamala Harris. In the end, I just told her it's Biden or fascism. There is no third alternative. She got real quiet when I put it that way.
Failure? Success? What was this about? https://www.cnn.com/2023/09/30/politics/jamaal-bowman-pulls-fire-alarm/index.html
I hate that whole divorce dad who has custody of the kids on game day look. I want him to be fired on that basis alone.
Supposedly Bowman hold it because the Republicans have presented a bill for 45 days of funding but it was so late that the Democrats needed more time to go through it and on the vote called Bowman decided to pull the fire alarm and buy them more time.
That is the claim. Bowman says it ain't so. If Bowman's act was indeed intentional, he needs to be charged.
I don't know about that. The Republicans have done this last minute bill before and give no time extensions
I'm reading Dan O'Neill's excellent book A Land Gone Lonesome, which could be seen as a Democratic failure.
And a shutdown doesnt? Or signing an unread bill that may cause or exacerbate a matter and lead to deaths doesn't? Only immediate casualties count not cause and effect casualties?
This is the bit all the Ronbois and GOP elites don't seem to understand If they want to be rid of Trump they have to actually use their power and go to Biden like the Never Trumpers have. Wish casting for Glen Trumpkin isn't going to cut it.
First time I saw her when I watched it I realized that I knew a few people like her. Right down to the different faith every year. Still a great show, I'm in the middle of a rewatch.
They see it as political suicide, and they'd sooner kill the democratic institutions than their own political career. (As if the latter would matter once the former is gone).
Yeah, but you still can't do that. I mean, how far would you go? Would you pull a loaded gun to stop a vote that you think will be harmful?
Oh, well, I guess it's ok to poison the opposition's food with salmonella, by that logic. And please tell me: what would the fire/rescue personnel or pedestrians have done wrong that would justify your considering their deaths as OK? Good lord that's really fucked up.
