Berry Hopkins Smith, Canouse, Nyeman, Robertha Samake, Pines, Birnbaum, Najar Kempin Should be fun, or a bloodbath. Either way, fun.
My mom had a much-repeated saying: "If you're too sick to go to school, you're too sick to play outside." My dad, on the other hand, was fond of saying: "If you were too tired to play in a home US Open Cup match on a Wednesday night, you're too tired to play in a meaningless friendly on a Wednesday night." So...no Bayern action for: Steven Birnbaum Brendan Hines-Ike Russell Canouse Sofiane Djeffel Ola Kamara Taxi Fountas
Birnbaum actually led the Flower City Revolt, and here he is starting against Bayern. Would love to get his thoughts. Going forward, I really will try not to bring everything back to that Red Bulls game.
Glad they're not rushing Taxi out there for this. I watched a good chunk of Barcelona's 6-0 destruction of Miami last night. I expect this to be along similar lines
he knows how meaningful this match is... no reason to risk injury Altho he did pretty well on the PK to get his hands on it
if this were against any other opponent I would be bothered. Bayern Munich are just plain this god. It's not about how bad we are they are just good. A goal not from Taxi, I'll take it.
I live in some godforsaken purgatory where I can't get the Districts NBC and ESPN+ is blacked out. Basically,I'm the reason DCU normally streams live on their website. You're welcome. And thank you.
A couple of guys get to say their first DC United goals came against Bayern Munich, we got to see the new striker run around a bit, and the FO sold some tickets. As long as no one got injured, this was as successful as we could hope?
I enjoyed it. I thought guys were free to show their personalities a bit. Part of that personality is giving up buckets of goals, but at least they were brave enough to try. Durkin had some sick passes, he's coming into his own there. Zanne is nothing if not fast as hell. And TKD in the middle of both goals. Even Djeffal and Guediri, who were a couple of the worst recently, looked more confident. Robertha, Estrada, Berry unconvincing. Berry gets a pass, and kind of Robertha, too, because there is no Hunter Davies in MLS (anymore). Kempin on that second, what do you say? A couple of kicks directly to Bayern, danger immediately. He's third string, so shrug it off I guess. Cool to see Nyeman get minutes and look just quick enough. One to grow on.
same tbh— Charlotte FC (@CharlotteFC) July 21, 2022 MLS will be fine. Eurosnobs who want to shit on the league will shit on the league regardless.
