DC is probably the most popular team when it comes to road games. We all love to see DC United playing against our teams. I predict a good attendance even a sold out. At least 25k will show this coming Saturday to the Home Depot
Oye Quisqueya, Any stats or inside info to back up your prediction? (You better be Dominican cuz don't be frontin' like you is when you ain't, o.k. muchacho)
i hope so, but i think that 24k would be a more realistic estimation... man, i wish we got to see that place on tv more often.
Really? Not me. I don't really care to watch DC at all. No dislike, just disinterest. The same disinterest I have with KC and this year's Dallas team. And sad to say about my own team, but if I wasn't a Galaxy faithful, I'd hate to watch its boring performances this season. I hope attendance is good this Saturday, but DC coming to town is not going to sell out the HDC.
It's Cobi Bobblehead Night! They even showed a clip of the "unveiling" of the bobblehead with Cobi seeing it for the 1st time (supposedly) on a local station here. There will be at least 23K..
Yes, and I better get one, but I'm not sure I can get to the game early, so I might get squeezed out. (Only 12,000 available.) Someone on the attendance thread said a ticketmaster rep had told him that 20,000 were already sold, so anything's possible for this one. With the way DC is playing recently, should be a great game as well.
It’s also AYSO/Youth Soccer Night. They might get the sellout but a bunch of half-price ticket kids blowing those damn horns all night hardly makes it a sellout worth getting excited about.
I like noise... it gives a good ambience to the game... sometimes when the game is boring, the noise gives a lot of emotion
You mean humping Cobi!? ps-I kid you not. There is a hilarious picture (in the DC United forum) of him humping Pope in a game a few years back.
Not to start the horn debate again, but emotional noise (chanting, etc.) and an 11-year old blowing a horn for no real reason all night are two vastly different things.
I'll either presume you're kidding or that you're not going to show up since you dislike the idea so much, one of the two.
Well certain caribbean islands (I'm not going to mention Puerto Rico) like to claim that merengue is theirs. You never know; he might have seen _Raising Victor Vargas_ and is now trying to be all dominicano and all. (great movie, btw)
Alas, the beauty of the Cathedral. Every fan is important to the atmosphere. It truly does make a difference w/ every 1000 fans. The upper deck produces incredible noise. I'm going to the KC game. I can't wait.
Flashman, i atree. DC's been playing great after the second half of the season. If 23+k showed this past saturday, imagine now. If only 12,000 are available, then we could easily end up with 25k or more. If you want to know more about me, go to www.guavaberry.net for Juan Luis Guerra personal website and you will enjoy our forum and music.
Just in case ppl don't get it, uh, Juan Luis Guerra is quite the established star. This board's LJG uses his name in homage to a talented musician.
d'oh!! yes. in case you didn't notice, i'm the gullible type. thanx for pointing this out. **red faced**
That's what we're here for: to bring knowledge to the masses; to explain the importance of the Quisqueyan diaspora. Your humble attitude is much appreciated. You will not be my intellectual be-atch like Segrove is. P.S. My girlfriend has informed me that Chivas SD is now my 2nd favorite team. There is no discussion on this. So... go Chivas SD (?) [did it at least SOUND convincing?]

If Alecko Eskandarian did not try to deny his Iranian roots then maybe a few of the half a million Iranian-Americans in Southern California would come out to see him. Instead he really seems to not want to be associated with what his father accomplished as part of the Iranian National Team.
