Don't know how but I'll take it. Clutch save by Hamid in the closing minutes. What a last 10 minutes of the game.
I'm sortof at work on teleconferences with youtube.tv on one of the monitors. I thought the first goal was consolation. We're only going to score on set pieces, that's what we've got. I think the plan was to play like warmed over crap for 80 minutes to lull the opponent into a false sense of superiority and then STRIKE.
Turned the game off at the half. Dealt with some personal business, talked to my daughter and then thought, well, let's see how bad it is and came back in the 76th minute. Glad I did, that pass from Felipe and Higuain's finish was pure class. Credit Brillant and Birnbaum on the second goal, at least Brillant got back the goal he gave up earlier in the game. Higuain's presence increases the soccer IQ out there by 200%. I was also impressed by Paredes -- he kept hustling and putting pressure on Toronto when that was needed. Also made a nice flick in traffic to Canouse, who then promptly gave it away ..... However, this is not sustainable in any way. Next match will see Canouse and Felipe in the middle which is better. Canouse is a destroyer and Felipe can play a bit more forward. Using Fisher or O-A at RB also will add speed to a frighteningly slow squad.
1 - @dcunited are the first team to have a player sent off while trailing by two or more goals and collect a point in an @MLS match since at least 2007 (W0 D1 L156). Phoenix.#MLSisBack— OptaJack⚽️ (@OptaJack) July 13, 2020
High pressure by home grown 17 yr old Kevin Paredes forced the bad pass that was intercepted and then got fed through to Higuain https://matchcenter.mlssoccer.com/m...-toronto-fc-vs-dc-united/details/video/229375
I kept the stream on for a while. Hamid was ready to take on the whole TFC bench. Bradley waded into the DCU area (but far away from Hamid). It took 4-5 DCU players to hold back Hamid. Bradley was pretty half assed in his "hold me back guys!"
