DC United hosting the Atlanta Copy Cats

Fox Sports - (hey, we made the big time)
    TV Broadcast - 7:30

Atlanta's one of the league's best teams right now
DC United is struggling to reach .500 and possibly make the playoffs

Outlook - This would be a great time to steal a point from a league-leading team. It can be done, but we'll have to score on our opportunities.

It will be my wife's first trip to AF. I'm hoping (but not quite hopeful) that the True United will be more than a lttle competitive. A positive result would be great, but a loss to a very strong side that is also acclimated to heat an humidity would not be a surprise.

I hate to say it, but 0-2 or 1-2 to the Pretenders. :(

To paraphrase Normal Desmond's line: We've always been big, Fox Sports has been small. The bully boys are here for our lunch money. Let's impress the crowd and pretend we're Sampdoria putting the pain on Naples

At worst this would have been a series ending game if Elena Delle Donne didn't go down at the end of Game 2.

    ******** Atlanta.

    It's almost time for kick-off.

Tighten your chinstrap and brace for impact.

We're going to be exhausted in the second half, which makes that CK goal a killer. But that's about as good a half as I think we could have expected under the conditions. Good goal from Acosta, almost got a second, and mostly containing Martinez.

I think the gold bars are for Childhood Cancer Awareness. The team is wearing gold ribbon patches on the uniforns tonight.

Senor Rooney, Senor Acosta, and Senor Arriola can play soccer.

How good would we have been with this Hamid last season? He’s proved me wrong that he isn’t up for it. But based on his disappearing act last year, I was skeptical.

That was a HUGE win. I could nitpick a few things, but Arriola and Hamid played like bosses. Canouse came out of the fog he was in for the last few games. Lucho and Rooney were a pair.

    Arriola was MOTM.

When Atlanta starts losing, they start acting like little punk-ass bitches.

    3 points.

I have to admit, I did not see this outcome. Glad to be wrong.

Very entertaining and hard fought victory Trash the usual list of excuses, nothing to whine about tonight.

Yup. Needed a couple more points from this stretch, but getting the three here is a bonus. Just need not to get destroyed with half our starters missing the next few games.

Did not see this coming after the tired legs trash with Philly.

Hamid was huge in protecting the lead with the free kick and corner saves.

Somehow it has been the case for most of the match ups though.

Rooney was the Man of the Match. He created all 3 goals. Arriola was lucky on the PK. Took too long. Shoot the damn thing. Great pass from Wayne

I’d give it to Arriola as his hustle could not be matched by any player from either team.

Overall good team effort. Rooney and Acosta vital in attack; Canouae did well and Arriola covered a ton of ground and won some huge defensive one on one challenges.
