    IMO some of these guys dont cut it anymore and can be easily replaced by other younger players....El Tuco could of done a better job with this call up.

    Cool to see Benji called up...very weird though since he doesn't play...I agree with most of the "What fors" except for Escobar.

    Alfaro had nothing to do with this call up, it was Rugamas. :rolleyes:

    As for the squad well it's good that they are giving the youngsters a chance to train with the seniors, but that said, in the end, the majority of them will be cut and we will use much the same squad as always. Again though, i'd rather it be a straight mix (young and fringe) or maybe the U21 squad with a few seniors added in as well; but it doesn't look like that'll happen. And considering that in the list there are 16 regulars (if the MLS release those that play in that league) then that leaves four spots open for the young guys and/or fringe players (Turcios, Monteagudo, Hernandez etc). Of those four i'd think Blanco and Flores would get a call up which then would only leave two spots open. And that'd most likely be used for a defender and a forward (midfield is pretty stacked). But who knows, guess we'll just have to wait and see.

    One thing i don't like about this is that they've called up players who either have not been playing well, or have not been playing at all. The one that really gets to me, is Villalobos. I mean he hasn't played an official game in who knows how long and yet he is still there even though both Salinas and Gonzalez had really strong seasons (even strong enough to be considering number one in the absence of Montes IMO). And that's just not right. Fair enough the kid has potential but he has to be playing, and if being left off the national team makes him realise that he needs to move away from Aguila then it's worth it. It helps no one to call him up while leaving out other more deserving players and then have him in the squad only to rid the bench for Portillo. That said, i have a feeling that he might get some game time in this one (half and half with Portillo maybe); that is unless Rugamas is to afraid to make the call in which case he'll end up sitting on the bench the whole game. And talking about that, i wonder what happened with Edgar Alvarez? Not that i'm complaining, but it's a little odd that they make such a big deal out of it to begin with and now for this meaningless game he's not even called up. Hopefully someone came to their senses on that one. :D

    I'm surprised Castillo wasn't on that list. Goff has said that he's likely to play a half for both sides, and I can't imagine a scenario where he doesn't spend at least a day or two in El Salvador's camp.

    I've said all along it would be a waste of time/space for CC to play with ES. But really there is no need for him to prepare with ES for this type of game.

    La comisión de normalización de la Federación Salvadoreña de Fútbol (FESFUT) anunció ayer la nómina de 29 jugadores que integrarán la selección absoluta.......

    Ayer por la noche, José Luis Rugamas, seleccionador interino, se reuniría con la comisión normalizadora de la FESFUT para definir el calendario de trabajo de la Azul de cara al amistoso del 19 de junio en Estados Unidos ante el DC United.......

    if they go to the same training place i will go see them since i know where they always train i even might take my camcorder if you guys want i might interview them so if u guys want questions list them here and ill ask them and post the video here

    I talked to Ramon sanchez last Saturday and he told me that neither Ramon or Arturo will be at DC with La Selecta. (sorry no reason was given :eek: )

    That's good news. That opens things up form two fringe players and/or juniors to take their spots. That said, it'd be a shame for Sanchez to be kept back if all he's going to do is ride the bench as San Jose.

    Also seems like Aguila might also be trying to stop their players from coming (Corrales and Hernandez) which would again be good as it would open up more spots for those uncapped/fringe players.
