I'm not that great at written play by play (while trying to watch the game), but I'll do what I can. Sorry you can't watch it.

Landon just got a yellow for diving. There was some contact from Pope, but he did make a meal of it.

Donovan almost scored again. Great save from Rimando.

Ariel just took a shot, save by Rimando.

Jamie Moreno with a bad shot towards the goal.

Each team with 11 shots, each keeper with 4 saves.

    I should be able to.

Damn, Ryan Nelson just scored for DC. 2-2 the score.

Reyes just pushed Mulrooney, no call.

For those who want the result now rather than wait for the delay broadcast, check the live tracker at mlsnet.com or the DC United site. It's slow, but at least the result will be forthcoming.

And thanks to radiogal for getting the result in as well!

I have a feeling this will be knotted at 2-2.

Corner DC. Score DC by Eddie Pope in the 84th minute. Corner taken by Etcheverry. Pope just went over Conrad. Pope's first goal of the year.

    Major upset in the making.

Can't fault the D--I'm going to go with the excuse that if Joe didn't get a red card the result would have been different.

JonCon is merely a different style keeper compared to Joe. Like to see how it turned out on the tube before I judge further.

Surprisingly, it's been close to current, though not too prompt.

Well, looks like we no longer control our own destiny for the Supporters Shield.

Time to start rooting for Colorado.

Close to current? Hmm, not for me. I hit refresh frequently and MLS is still on 54 minutes.

Interesting--I have it on the 86th minute. Though they haven't updated in a bit.

Game over. Rimando was the difference. In their last 8 games DC has scored 6 goals, all against the Quakes. (according to the announcers anyway, I haven't checked.)

Dred, you still want this game?

I'm not too worried about LA, because if we win our two home games they are virtually eliminated.

Dallas on the other hand could run the table against soft opposition and they would win the division regardless of what we did.

Wierd that from Korea I can't get the latest MLSnet updates.

If it's not too much trouble, sure.

I've had to miss three straight here so I've built up a craving.

Where do you sit? We sit in section 110. We try to get to the tailgate, but since we come from Oakland, it is never a definite.

What is the Quakes lately? When they were leading 2-1 I watched and they just sat back and were allowing DC to attack. There was no pressure on DC -- SJ just sat back and waited for the shot to miss. That gave DC confidence and (combined with some Rimando magic) the SJ D eventually broke down. Conway played okay, except he should have stopped that last goal (Joe would have).

Oh well. I just hope Dallas and LA lose or draw.

Well, I'm pissed. If the head ref and the AR don't receive failing assessments for this match, then the MLS assessment of officials is a complete joke. This game was decided by the officiating as much as it was by players on the field. DCs 2nd goal was clearly offside and it should have been an easy offside call to make. Both ARs failed to call most of the offsides correctly this game... not to mention their trouble with awarding balls played out of touch to the right team. But that was absolutely a game changing non-call. And Marufo was a complete joke. This game absolutely bears out my theory that refs can't control games played by Ray Hudson coached teams. How is it Williams can foul Mulrooney 4 times and walk away clean....and the tolerance of stalling.... and frankly just the sheer uneven nature of the foul calls and cards. The 4th goal came because the Quakes lost their focus, in part I think because Dayak was exasperated at the ref. He should be a professional and keep his cool, but I understand where Dayak was coming from in this case.
The Donovan yellow might be okay because Donovan did launch himself and throw his head back. Sometimes for as good as he is, Donovan is dumber than dirt. If he just falls down like a normal person, then the foul gets called on Pope, for the foul he did commit. Stupid Donovan needs to learn that embellishment doesn't pay, and frankly he should have known it would likely bring him grief in the post-Noel Kinney era. Face it, the refs are scared of DC and Hudson because the Noel Kinney situation, and no team playing DC is going to get any calls. I'm pissed because we outplayed DC. I can't really fault the Quakes' performance tonight because they played hard and well enough to win. Too bad they lost focus at the end, but I can't say I blame them.
