I stand corrected. Well I see where you are coming from, maybe it is sort of cheap. I'm still not sure I don't like it anyway though...
None of the MLS teams that already have championship stars are going to remove them... nor should they. -G
That's how it is in Switzerland as well, one star = ten championships. In Germany on the other hand it's one star = five championships. Bottom line: it differs from league to league...
MLS is about to enter its 10th season in 2005. When it's been around long enough for any MLS team to have actually had DECADES of achievement, having one star represent 5 or 10 championships might make more sense. But for now, DC United will have four stars above the badge. Anyone who doesn't like it can suck it.
Agrred. This isn't Italy and last I checked there star system isn't a universal one. We can use a Star for each championship here because this league isn't going to be like the European leagues were only 2-3 teams ever win the league..thus they NEED to have 1 star equal 5 or 10 Championships. I think 1 small start per championship is fine once you get to 5 then a bigger silver star or the like. Don't like it?...Then Suck it!
Definitely different strokes for different strokes. Glasgow Rangers wear five stars to commemrate 50 SPL titles, while Celtic wears one gold star to commemerate their Champions League win. Maybe after a few years United will replace their MLS Cup stars with CONCACAF Champions Cup stars. Here's hoping for number 2 in 2005!
