Played 45 minutes in a 2-1 loss to Bravos. Graduation day for the young man. Rodriguez came on at halftime of a 3-2 loss. Taped it but didn't watch it. Ventura Alvarado - remember when he was our first choice CB - What the hell was that? - made the bench but didn't play.
Rodriguez started and went 90 in a 5-1 loss to Pachuca last night. Seventh straight loss for the club. The club has an option to buy him that may have driven the recent playing time, though I prefer to think he just beat everyone out for the starting spot...
Looks like North Texas SC (and FCD) are gonna get a fee from the Liga MX club: - Atlético de San Luis continuará bajo la señal de ESPN.- No ha habido acercamientos con Ferreti ni con Miguel Ángel Garza.- Se hará válida la opción de compra por David Rodríguez que venía a préstamo de North Texas FC. Todo esto confirmado por Alberto Marrero.— Misael Eymar Espericueta (@MisaEymar5) May 4, 2021 The purchase option for David Rodríguez, who was on loan from North Texas FC, will be valid. All this confirmed by Alberto Marrero.

He appears to be on the bench for them vs Atlas tonight - different jersey number, but I would think it's the same dude.
Google tells me he started for Atletico San Luis in Jornada 1 of the Clasura. Between lousy picture quality and announcers who don't share my priorities or language, I'm still trying to figure out which one he is out there, or if the lineup I have is mistaken. But he might have gotten a big start.
He's the kid with the high number on his back: 👊🇺🇦 𝖤𝗅 𝖷𝖨 𝖯𝗈𝗍𝗈𝗌𝗂𝗇𝗈 ¡VAMOS SAN LUIS! Presentado por @Cem_Moctezuma #SomoSanLu12 pic.twitter.com/Ci8UVowgvp— Atlético de San Luis (@AtletideSanLuis) January 7, 2022
He's playing wide left in what looks like a 5-4-1. Hasn't had much impact. Online stuff had me looking for him at RWB, and then LWB, but he's the left wing. Basically can't read any of the ADSL jersey numbers, which doesn't help, so I'm basing stuff on hair color and body type.
He made an interception that was nice. Otherwise, no aggressive attacking play, and although I'm perhaps overly critical since I'm only watching one guy for the most part, there have been a few times where I can't even fathom his choice of defensive positioning. Like, there's a guy open on his wing and he walks off slowly in the other direction, away from the open man or any zone worth defending.
Had a great steal that was stolen right back from him in 3 seconds. His first half highlight was getting wide open for a cross and hitting it so hard off of a defender's balls that play had to be stopped and his teammate Facundo Waller briefly acted like it was a major medical emergency.
Rodriguez has switched sides to the right wing partway through the second half. It's probably to let Sambueza go after the other side of the Pachuca defense, but I'm guessing.
He is subbed off in the 65th, trailing 1-0. He looks like he lacks a little strength and positioning savvy, and has some quickness in the ball, but never used it for much except the first few seconds of a counterattack. Not sure I could cite a strength, which isn't a great sign in what was a below average performance for the squad.
He looked OK - good hustle, two steals, didn't really create any danger, but neither did anyone else in his 12 minutes. 1-0 loss.
He appeared in the 1st 2 matches of the Clausura and hasn't played since. He was on the bench on 1/21, but not in the squad for the next 7 matches. No indication of injury on TM. I looked at the last couple of U20 matches, but didn't see him. He did play for the U20s earlier this month: (Mexico, u-20) David Rodriguez started and played 89 minutes in San Luis’ 2-3 loss to Guadalajara. #usmnt #ussoccer #mexicanamerican #mexicoamericano #🇲🇽🇺🇸 #chicano #usynt #davidrodriguez pic.twitter.com/gvcWGrZaGY— Mexicams FC (@MexicamsFc) March 5, 2022 #Sub20 ¡EMPATE ANTE UN RIVAL COMPLICADO!Esta mañana el Atlético de San Luis Sub20 empató con su similar de Tigres Sub20.Diego Urtiaga, Rivaldo Lozano, Fernando León, Salvador González, Vladimir Moragrega y David Rodríguez tuvieron actividad.Gol:⚽️ #190 Ricardo Alba📸 ADSL pic.twitter.com/CIZIGviKOd— Atlético de San Luis VAVEL (@AtletiSL_VAVEL) February 19, 2022
