good to see him Sheffield. Interesting to see what the fans of the club on blades forums thought of him. Some rated him, some thought he was shit (usual stuff really). What was most interesting was most seemed to think Carney was a talent yet he wasn't physical enough to cut it in the championship. strange observation considering his time in the A-league.... Good luck davie
Not sure if people have seen this, but there is an interview with him on the FC Twente site (in English) http://www.fctwente.tv/ Can't link directly, but go to page 2 (at the moment, at least) and look for the "David Carney naar Twente" title.
He was never charismatic as compared to Holman. Did anyone hear his interview for the SK game? Something about how the last four games he started, Australia have not lost. The ego on that wanker...
Good signing IMO. He's not going to cut it in a big team, but here he should get good time on the park and against quality opposition. Blackpool might not have the cattle to compete, but they don't play a bad brand of football.
think he should have stayed where he was... he's probably going back to the championship next year. Still it'll be nice to see another aussie in the EPL
Well it looked as though he wasn't in the new managers plans so there wasn't alot of point staying at Twente.
Now he's trying to get the message across. http://www.smh.com.au/sport/footbal...is-to-cement-his-position-20101010-16dyy.html
Carnster's still clubless after getting released: http://www.goal.com/en/news/14/asia/2011/05/25/2503277/australias-david-carney-released-by-blackpool
Somewhat of a surprise, thought he'd end up back in the A-League. Can't say I know anything about the club he's going to but I hope they have comfy chairs on the bench.
Carney moves again http://www.footballaustralia.com.au/Leach-opinion-display/David-Carney-The-invisible-man/45317
The worse mistake Carney made was when he left Holland for Blackpool.. thats when he started to diminish..
