That's a good thing. Last thing the club needs is the white elephant hovering over them while they are trying to keep the win streak going. They have done exceptionally well without him and they don't need to be worried about whether he will or won't play.

(this is coming from a Beckham fan)

Btw, check your windows for the flying pigs. She smiles.

I just noticed the 23, 23, 23 all over Becks seats in his car. I guess Victoria should get the same treatment, yah? If you flip the 23 it becomes EZ... easy.. a telling truth about Victoria? Still so many secrets left uncovered.

Yea it's his custom Navi. The Bentley has their initials I believe. Gotta let the Chav-fabs.

I bet she was in a Bev Hills plastic surgery all day getting botox injections to prevent the wrinkles that smiling can cause. :)

    Wow.

I was just watching GolTV News about a minute ago and it sounded like Beckham was ready to play again for sure, and now I read he just got hurt. Beckham has really been unlucky with LA.

Wow, why am I not surprised?

Eh, the team's been doing fine without him as of late, but it would've been nice to see him come in as a sub if was 100%.

Well I guess it was better that it happened in practice and not in a game. At least now there wont be a huge media backlash calling him soft/etc.

Also good that we didn't burn a sub on him vs NY.

    Such is life I suppose...

    WTF!!!!!

I don't know how he agravated his ankle, but Yallop needs to pull him aside and tell him not to play a physical game. Do what Blanco does and let the ball come to him and let the younger kids do the tackling.

If he can't play a physical game, what good is he to this team and league?

How about being healthy......that would do the league much more than being injured and sitting in a luxury box with his suit on.

Re: David beckham injures ankle again.

it's a weird article that makes the injury sound so serious and then has quotes that sound like he could still play.

I think it's actually good timing because it prevents any of the players from settleing into a feeling of "becks will save us". The players who have been getting the jobn done know they have to do it again and they can't count on any help.

Just talked to the Galaxy. Per them, this story is wrong.

Beckham did NOT reinjure himself, nor did he leave training early.

    FYI...

Too true. This is definitely Yallop's fault. It's completely outrageous that he didn't tell Beckham not to re-injure his ankle and I expect him to be fired for sure now.

    +++++++++++++

[scene is the HDC practice field earlier today]

*Beckham goes in for a tackle and comes away limping in agony*

FY: What the &*%!# was that?

DB: Oh, you said don't re-injure my ankle....Bloody hell!!!

We've seen the FO bend the truth a few times this year. I guess we'll have to wait and see if he's even dressed tomorrow to play.

That would be nice if this is true, but why am I starting to get the feeling that this guy is made of paper........

I say we don't need him! We've gotten this far without him, why not further.

It would definately be an extra boost of confidence for everyone involved however if his expensive behind is on the bench to give us a spark late in the game if we wind up needing it.

I don't see anything in the link in the first post about Beckham leaving practice early. Libel?

Look at my post above yours. The AP updated and changed the content of the article. The article now does not even mention his ankle being injured while the earlier version said that he agravated the ankle during practice.

Whoa, it has. Before it said that Beckham re injured himself, now it just says that if he plays he'll be a sub. Sneaky sneaky, they just changed the first paragraph of the article so that they weren't wrong. Now it's not really news though, like anyone thought he'd be starting vs New York anyway...

"If David Beckham is available for the Los Angeles Galaxy's game against New York on Thursday, he would enter as a substitute."

Oh, it also says: Updated on Wednesday, Oct 17, 2007 7:16 pm, EDT, so 4:16 Pacific, 20 minutes ago...

I saw this earlier and read the "Beckham re-injures ankle" version, now it looks as if it has been edited to look as if he will play tomorrow. Whats up with that is this a cover up or just shoddy reporting?

what the hell is going on? this is wild! the article definitly said he re-injured his ankle, but he still might play. and now it seems to have been edited and mentions nothing about an injury. wierd.

    possible scenarios:

    1) somebody just messed up, badly, and for some reason thought beckham had got hurt when really he hadn't. Maybe he got becks confused with vagenas or something. its possible

    2) Beckham really tweaked his ankle a little bit, but the galaxy/mls did not want this publicized for obvious reasons so they leaned on the media and ESPN to not mention it, hoping that he can recover by tommorow.

We'll all see how his ankle is tomorrow. If he's not dressed or if he is dressed but has a limp...the article was true.

You know that the second this article was released the FO had a panic attack and made some phone calls. After all, outside of playing just the game...there's actually a lot of money riding on the line tomorrow night.
