Interesting, so we wont have to wait long for the games. Only a couple of months left.

Should be in December where they give out the official awards for 2004.

strangely enough, I have a slightly different set of dates announced:

    Feb 9
    March 25, 30
    June 3, 8
    August 17

Also, I have seen a newspaper article saying that the draw will be on Dec 9, 2004 in Malaysia.

    I wonder which is correct?

This is the basic calendar that was announed last week:
Fifa Schedule link HOWEVER, the articles I read this week say that Fifa has moved over one day each, the games held in March and June... probably b/c continents like asia require more time for travel between the two games.

the dates don't REALLY matter except for the four games in march and june where two games will be played back-to-back -- depending on the draw, and way that the home/away situation turns out, it could mean, for instance, Korea having to travel to Bahrain, then to NorthKorea, and play within 3 days after arriving.

what do you think -- do you guys think the two games in one week will be advantageous to your team? or would you prefer something like this year's format (one every month-ish)?

It would probably help the likes of Japan, Iran and Korea, "the deep teams".

Wouldnt help the likes of Kuwait and North Korea

hey ruff, that's a good point -- stronger teams that have depth may be able to bust through the week running on basic technique and experience.

also, it could be advantageous to teams that have to call back their players from europe. sort of hitting two birds with one stone...
