As most of you know by now from looking at the pictures and reading other threads I have with me the FA CUP Replica from the 2005 season which we won by beating Man U on penalties. I also have the runners up trophy from the 1995 Super Cup which we lost to AC Milan. Other memorabilia I have left secure in Washington as I was unable to transport it around the US with me. The club finally agreed that we were able to take the trophy and other important items from the museum which is obviously fantastic news and I know that those who have seen it and lifted it already were surprised. So to give everyone in the cities I am visiting the chance to see it it will be on display and with me at the following places and dates. Jan 28th - New Orleans - if anyone wants to see it please PM me and we will arrange a place and time Jan 29th - Jackson - Arsenal v Newcastle game - Please PM frankgarrison for details of where it will be Jan 30th - Jan 31st - Dallas, Texas Feb 1st - Dallas, Texas Feb 2nd - Dallas/Seattle - Arsenal v Manchester City - Trinity Hall, Dallas - Please PM DallasGooner for details of where it will be Feb 3rd - Seattle - please contact deeplennon for details but probably at George and Washington Pub in the morning for the Prem game on TV. Feb 10th - New York - Nevada Smiths
I'm looking forward to having my picture taken with the Super Cup runner up trophy. See ya in California, Rick.
Some advice-don't let your wife schedule a delivery of a new refrigerator on any of those days, and then leave town for a work trip, forcing you to miss the chance to see the trophy.
Thanks...I am bringing down 2 of my friends for the game and I would love to get a pick with the FA cup from 2005 (replica)
Rick- I'll check on the F&H, or maybe another pub in the area. Everyone else-I'll post here when I know for sure where we can meet. --Mike
I got my pic taken with the double trophies from 2002 at the F&H... and also watched us win it there in 2003. It's got FA Cup history for me! But wherever you and Rick decide, I'll be there!
Yeah, any place/time you decide, I'll try to be there! It should be a great chance to meet some of you too.
Sorry - I mis-read your first post. No, the Cup WON'T be at the game, but Rick WILL be. The Cup will make an appearance at Nevada Smiths later that day.
Oh man this would be so sick. Rick what are your travel plans between Seattle and San Fran? Like when are you leaving Seattle and heading down for San Fran? Just curious cause i might have this day off and if so then i might just take a lil drive up to Seattle. Thanks for letting me know.
I know that this is in jest - but if you knew what Rick has to go through to be sure that the trophy remains safe you'd know that it isn't the least bit funny. The Club are very serious about it and wouldn't appreciate a joke being made. I don't think they montior this site, so there is no real harm done but let's not refrain moving forward.
I'd delete the posts anyway, as you say they would take it seriously if they were to read it and it's not good to have that hanging around on the forum. IMO.
Any NYC Gooner willing to put me up for a night? I was gonna come down on the train from Boston the night before, and so far, there hasn't been too much response on the Boston end of things in terms of getting a contingent down.
Exactly, I think Rick has some serious trust built up with the club for them to allow him to borrow this trophy from the trophy cabinet.
no worries. it's not like the Arsenal SWAT team are going to bust down your door tonight while you sleep.........
Dan - please send photos when you get them up on line. If you dont have my e-mail send a pm. thx matt
I live in OC in SoCal, but am planning to head up to see the match (whether at F&H or wherever). I think that would be better than asking Rick to make special arrangements for a noobie such as myself down in Anaheim ;-). I look forward to meeting up with those of you in the LA area.
There is no game that day. I'd recommend that if you know a good place to go in Anaheim, call it out and see if you can get some other Gooners to show up as well.
Why bother with the Fox and Hounds? Lets just meet up at the Dublin on Sunset, way more convenient (for me).
