Anyone else see this last night or this morning? Newscenter did a spot about how this is the reality of a pro athlete, being traded. So then they start interviewing Cunningham and he's saying all this stuff like he's gonig to miss the fans the most, and that he's done a lot for the team and the community. Then the newscaster (Anthony Rothman maybe?) says he has an inside source that it wasn't caused by a difference in personalities, but that Andrulis was looking for the right mix of talent for a championship. Then he sort of contradicts himself by saying it was enhanced by Cunningham going from a starter to a bench warmer due to nagging injuries.

So then Andrulis is talking about it and he says he and Jeff got along fine, that they were together for 7 years and like any relationship it had it's ups and downs. There were clips of Jeff scoring goals interspersed throughout the whole thing. The piece ended with Cunningham saying he would most miss the fans, that the fans here supported the team when they were winning and losing, and that he didn't know if Colorado fans were like that or not. After the interview when they cut back to Clay Hall he made some smart@ss comment about Jeff promising not to celebrate when he comes back to Columbus and scores on the Crew.

It was an interesting piece, and probably more attention than the Crew has gotten all offseason. But I do question the timelyness of it. Cunningham was clearly in the studio, which makes me think they may have filmed this a month ago and were just waiting for a really slow news day to show it.
