I think their should be more defenders than 3 because of different formations perhaps a first team all MLS instead of best XI
I am bringing the Cucho love over to the rightful thread. May we never forget these iconic Cucho moments.
"Cucho-man, Cucho-man" Does whatever a striker can Can he score, from midfield? Take a look at that goal.... Look out, here comes the Cucho-man....
Yeah, there was an offer (or offers) which was rejected. Which is a bit different than almost losing a player. Assuming the social media post is legit, that is. We paid $10M for him, and he's under contract through 2025, so it's not as though the team has no leverage. It would have to be a truly remarkable offer to even consider it. If he has another great year in MLS, it wouldn't shock me if he's sold next off season or during the summer window for a huge fee.
Fair enough. If we're being honest, as long as he continues to play at this level in MLS and stays healthy, it's hard to imagine Cucho staying in the league long-term. Why would he? He's already played in the Premiership and is getting the occasional call-up to the Colombian national team. He's only 24. If we retain him for another season and, hopefully, see him help us win more hardware, then recoup our investment in him via a big transfer fee, well, that's a huge win in my book. As long as Bezbatchenko has another signing lined up and ownership is willing to pay whatever it takes to sign the next "Cucho." Which I assume they would, since just about every big investment they've made so far in the team has resulted in a championship.
From ttps://www.mlssoccer.com/news/your-thursday-kickoff-columbus-crew-sporting-kansas-city-san-jose-earthquakes-pr: we didn’t give enough hype to Cucho Hernández’s performance last season. The 24-year-old scored 16 times and delivered 11 assists in 27 starts. He finished… (deep breath here, this is about to get overwhelming)... in the 95th percentile among forwards in xG per 90, 99th percentile in shots per 90, 95th percentile in expected assists, 92nd percentile in progressive passes, 98th percentile in progressive carries, 93rd percentile in successful take-ons, 65th percentile in tackles and 78th percentile in interceptions. His statistical radar is close to looking like one big circle. There’s an argument that Cucho deserved your MVP votes last year and, somehow, it went relatively unheralded.
Would that this were true. Unfortunately, the only one I hear is a warmed over Gyassi Zardes song asking him " will you score a goal". Which we all know wasn't at all original to begin with. ( And it's particularly stupid when he's scored a goal 10 minutes earlier.) But I guess the Nordecke is too busy squabbling over politics and posing for selfies to bother coming up with something original to sing for our best player.
To be fair, I have heard “HEY, HO! CU-CHO!” which is from the beginning part of the Ramone’s “Blitzkrieg Bop.”
The Hey Ho one is my favorite. We sang it during the playoffs. Re the Hey Cucho, I wanna know chant, watch most EPL games, and you'll hear almost every team has a variation on it.
I still want my Cuchocabana song to become a thing. Cucho, Cucho Hernandez When he scores a goal we go bananas.
Bez said he never received any offers for Cucho. So maybe Pipe was full of shit? Time to call RotoRooter.
Jules, the adorable three-year-old jukebox, has busted out ‘C is for Cucho’ this whole two months of offseason. When I catch him singing it randomly, I will record a short video clip, and then I will share it. Warms my black and gold, mama heart.
WATCH: Cucho Hernández's best moments in 2023 (https://www.mlssoccer.com/video/wat...#watch-cucho-hernandez-s-best-moments-in-2023) The ending is beautiful. Cucho's goal against Atlanta remains my favorite Cucho goal from last season. Especially non-PK goal. P.S. Over the weekend, I caught Jules singing and chanting. Here is a super short clip of him singing 'C is for Cucho.' I asked him to sing it twice... but he would not. He may be cute, but he is very stubborn. https://drive.google.com/file/d/1Ngc-gl_zo0R37yA7S-HxNt3D9OHaM0Oh/view?usp=drivesdk
Cucho means goals. Two games, two goals. Hush up on how many more goals could have been...
