Just based on his shots warming up in his first match at the LDC, I turned to my buddy in the Nordecke and said this guy is better than the MLS. He has shown that. Enjoy him while we have him, he will be back in Europe sooner than later.
Cucho currently sits at 14th all-time in Crew scoring history (according to TM). If he puts together another two seasons similar to his his current strike rate he may end up as high as 3rd and pushing for 2nd. We know with Nancy around we will score goals so its very much possible.
You could quibble with one choice or another but overall the Best XI is OK, although they obviously lean towards the big names. The only pick I'd completely disagree with is Burki. (Did you know that he makes twice as much as any other gk in MLS?). I can thimk of 3 maybe 4 other guys Id have put ahead of him.
Good selections for the most part; you could maybe consider Espinoza as a Best XI midfielder, but who would you remove from those picks? As for keepers, you could certainly argue that Celentano and Blake, and maybe Crepeau would be a better selection than Burki. When I first caught a glance at that caricature of Roman Burki, I thought he was flipping everyone the bird!
