Just did some googling and it seems our new boy has had some hamstring issues this year...and an ankle. He damn well better be healthy...and stay healthy. https://www.footballinsider247.com/watford-star-hernandez-likely-out-for-the-season-medical-expert/
I think some of us might be a bit more gun shy about the injury history of young players because of our recent experiences with Milton. He did play right at the end of the EPL season and then appeared in a recent friendly for Colombia, after recovering from that spring '22 hamstring injury. So that's good. But Transfermarkt lists a "muscle injury" that kept him out 183 days in 2018/19. Another much shorter (24 day) muscle injury the following season. Then there's the injury from this spring. He's also broken his foot twice, and missed decent chunks of time for those injuries. Guess we'll find out soon enough if these were just a string of bad luck, or hints at something more foundational.
I'm just gonna go ahead and post this here: Cucho's flight comes in on Monday and 2022 Nordecke Members are invited to the airport to welcome him to his new home. Time (early evening) and location (not the public terminal) TBD. As soon as I have those details I'll send an email out to Nordecke Members with the form to RSVP - attendance is capped at the first 150 respondents. In case anyone was curious.
Workshopping a chant here. Tune: Copacabana Cucho, Cucho Hernandez If he scores a goal we'll go bananas
Will cheering and signs be allowed? Or has the Nordecke "leadership" actually thought through the ramifications of being consistent? And what sort of rank hypocrisy does it take to accept special treatment - invitations to a private welcome event - from the same management you are trying to embarrass on Sunday? The same people you're claiming are somehow immoral? Or does moral preening not extend as far as refusing to accept special favors? Signed, Curious in Ohio
Can we keep this shit to just one thread at a minimum? Edit: Here is an open invitation to the "Thunderdome" https://www.bigsoccer.com/forums/columbus-politics.1289/

"It's a big thing. When you have a top striker, it gives your team confidence. I think you saw immediately when he went in the game, the confidence grew with the players around him.] We needed a good smile around this team. Someone must have wrote Porter’s script for this entire interview. edit: Goal video. I forgot to mention after our little household erupted with joy, Markus said very matter-of-factly, “that was a violation to take off his shirt!” Haha. Kids!
That's like saying a 1988 Dodge Omni is the same as a 1965 Shelby Mustang because they're both cars. Why would you choose to be so disrespectful to The Cucho?!
This field level view of Cucho's goal is pretty awesome. "Cucho's opened his account. Welcome to Columbus!"#Crew96 | @MillerLite pic.twitter.com/ZKIqKW1GL4— The Crew (@ColumbusCrew) July 11, 2022
