Why do you guys keep bringinp up Nery, the guy was born in Mexico by coincidence and taken back to Uruguay as a youngster. He does not feel anything for the colors as demosntrated by his constant b.s when he was getting called up.

    1) maza is young and it is expected that he makes mistakes. like VS said, diulio makes blunders every so often and he is a seasoned vet. basically, maza has two years to get some experience under his belt, and to stop making dumb mistakes. remember, the wc is two years away so examining potential is the best we can do. that being said, maza does have potential and therefore merits national side consideration. if anything though, hugo alludes to a good point, the jury is still out on the guy!

2)f#% nery! i dont want that c$br$n on the team. the national coach shouldnt be pandering to any player. if nery really wanted to be with el tri he would have readily suited up for the olympics. i would take some broke a## mexican with a lot of heart over a guy who has his father speak for him.

    3) i really think that we should be worrying about qualifying for 2006. there is one clear trend during the lavolpe period, inconsistency. i dont feel like reliving the last wc qualifying. we should be talking about an effective side right now! i just hope FMF cans the argie soon because a fracaso during qualifying or right before the WC could be psychologically davasting.

Much like VS bringing up Dulio to compare Maza to.

    I can't stand that c*nt.

I don't consider him one of our better defenders at all.

If it were up to me, he wouldn't even be on the roster reserves.

I rather take Gaitan if any naturalized player is called up. He is a forward and that is the position we need the most help with.

Aldo had offers? Maybe from other mexican teams... his brothers Antonio De Nigris played in Monterrey, then a bit for Villarreal, then Polideportivo in Spain; now he plays with Once Caldas :p He is supposed to come back next season... he arrived late this season and couldn't register with Santos.

Aldo is very good... he was injured in preseason and will lose all the current tournament :(

aldo is ten times better than his brother he should have left when he got the offer from las palmas i think in second division spain. hes rotting away in tigres
pumpido had told him he neede him and wanted him to stay., his injury did not help in getting playing time. hes unlike any forward mexico has tall, strong, fast, good ball control ,and shoots it well

Apparently Lavolpe has grand ideas, the proceso is not over. He seems to think he can put in place a proceso for the next 2 world cups until 2010.

Didn't know where the best thread for this was but

    http://espndeportes.espn.go.com/story?id=280159

Its an article about Chuy Mendoza's take, that Mexicans don't have to go to Europe to triumph futbolisticamente, and all that.

At the end the article closes by him saying he doubts he'll ever be on the current seleccion.

Thats dissapointing to me. I've always thought very highly of Mendoza since his switch ironically to America. He became a much better player since going there and is internationaly quality in my book.

how can anyone have Moises Munoz on their team? have you actually seen him playm with morelia, because if you have then you will have noticed that he does have a lot of mistakes and doesnt have too many spectacular saves. just because lavolpe has been calling him up does not mean he is any good

Nice squad but theres only 21 when there are 23 allowed. I would add Mario Perez and Borgetti just for the hell of it.
