Hello fellow Gooners, I just wanted to introduce myself ... another Arsenal supporter from Connecticut. I live in Waterbury and work in the Oxford/Southbury area. Since I have FSC, Setanta (and GolTV) at home, I usually just stay home for matches, but would certainly consider heading out to join a spirited crowd for bigger matches. I hope to meet some of you at these sites/locations mentioned, as we get closer to trophy-winning time in the coming months!! See ya, Mike
Let me know how it is at Rowley's! I won't be able to make it today... have to rely on my computer. I'll be very curious how many folks go there to watch THFC-AFC.
rowleys is showing the arsenal game today? EDIT: I just confirmed that tigins is showing the game at 2:45
Honestly, for the first leg it was pretty much my buddy and I watching it. One other guys showed up who said the last match he went to was the 71 Cup final. But that was about it. It's more of a place that has Setanta than an actual get together place Yes, they will have it. You may have to ask them to put it on though
Tigin's will be showing the game on Saturday, $10 cover. I have a wake Saturday morning in Port Chester, so I might go to Tigin's right after. ...I'll be the guy in the suit who looks like he just left a wake.
So is anyone going? id be quite nice to watch the match with someone who knows about football. Last time, against sp*rz, i was surrounded by 4 people who kept asking questions about what the CC is, what the PL is, etc, etc....
Not going, as my Setanta is now up and running! Tigin's will be a better atmosphere (seeing as though Rowley's will not be open until 11am!) But Tigin's usually has a better crowd, there are 5-10 locals and ex-pats who are in there for Arse games. They know what's going on and converse on a good level.
I too will be watching tomorrow morning on SetantaBB. But I'm due for a pub outing. I'm hoping to coerce my ManU friend to join me somewhere on Feb.16. Probably Tigin's, but maybe... Rowley's.
This pub/restaurant down the street from me in Norwalk. On Post Rd & Scribner, near Exit 14 of I-95. Haven't seen footy there but CTGooner has. No way it'll have the attendance that Tigin's has, but I may give it a try one of these days, espec.if I know of other gooner(s) going.
so whos going this saturday? come on guys, its the FA CUP!!! itll be packed either way, but lets show some support....
So was anyone there for the blackburn game? it was a good atmosphere i must say, it was 15 guys....i dont know anyone personally, but i recognized a few faces from other games.... FYI, Tigins will be chargeing a 10$ cover for the FA cup game vs United 2/16...12 noon!
Guess I know who was in charge of that scheduling. FWIW, I'm hoping to make Tigin's Saturday, maybe bring a ManUre w/ me too.
Any folks further north have plans for Saturday? Tigins/Rowley's might be a bit of a haul... 2 hours is a little much for me Edit: What channel is it on anyway? FSC isn't showing the match until Tuesday or something stupid like that...
Argh, can't find anywhere around Hartford that will be showing it If anyone finds anything, please let me know. Otherwise I'll be ordering it and watching it, alone, on my little TV at home
They were the first place I called. Because it's PPV, they're not showing it I ordered it for myself. Oh well.
