This could be a tricky one.

Big Sam has finally turned them around, especially defensively. They could be on a high having just beat the presumptive champions, and beat them with some panache.

West Ham didn't really have anything much to trouble our defense, but Palace could be another matter.

This may be where we find out if our defensive spine is any good, assuming it's Gabriel, Mustafi & Martinez.

The minute they score we're done like the Palace vs Chelsea game. Allardyce knows all about bus parking.

As for the pathetic lack of posts (you were right @mebeSajid!) I can't decide which is a bigger factor:
    (A) Apathy in Arsenal fans
    (B) Steady decline in BigSoccer usage

I suspect "B" but I find that more depressing frankly. "A" can and hopefully will turn around. But "B" I dunno what could bring that back.

Our last 2 MD threads had 92 posts (WHUFC) and 139 posts (MCFC). So I did a little reality checking...

United's last 2 MD threads had 195 posts (SAFC) and 315 posts (EFC). Wow, 315 posts... remember those days?! They're still the kings of BigSoccer. However, to make me feel a little less depressed, I checked the presumptive champions...

Chelsea's last 2 MD threads had a whopping 55 posts (AFCB) and 47 posts (MCFC). Wow, 47 posts... we had nearly 3X for the same fixture.

Will be driving back from a meeting through Atlanta during the match, which may be all for the better. Especially as the fleet vehicles don't have sat radio.

Fingers crossed, though. If they play with the flair of mid-week they should be okay. And at the least I'd love for ManU, City and Pool to earn their positions should they be above Arsenal.

The Utd board took a massive hit from the Moyes season

Let's face it - the Arsenal board has been slowly dying since the glory days of 2004 but this year seems especially bad

Lots of regs like Anti etc don't post anymore

They just beat Chelsea so I expect we'll win this one.

    1-2.

won't be easy, but then our record vs. Big Sam is not that bad as made out, even when he was at Bolton and Blackburn years ago.

Arsenal late arriving to ground. Traffic?? That's not good for our players and their prep. :(

Back in the office for the match but doesn't mean I can listen or watch, however. Stat updates will have to do.

    C'mon you Gunners!

Our keeper said this battle will be fought in the air. And without Koz in there. Oh boy.

Mike Oliver is the ref, so let's hope he has one of those stellar matches he's capable of.

Monday night football with Martin Tyler. :D (Edit: but with his annoying low mic volume as usual!)

I was at this fixture 2 summers ago, and I can tell you that Palace fans are loud and relentless singers. Definitely 12th man potential. If they score first our players could be intimidated the atmosphere.

And they just did that!!! :( :( :(

Every game is like our team has never played a second of defense before. Maybe bould should go too. Also, Welbeck has been useless the last few he's started.

Gabriel was owned by Benteke on that aerial battle, which directly led to their goal. What was it Martinez was saying? Ugh.

That stuff can happen though. It's what happened after that's maddening. Elneny lungining, Mustafi not tracking the run, and Bellerin playing Zaha onside.
