Players are still TBD. There will be five or six current players and they should be announced tomorrow. Lubos Kubik's participation has been confirmed. That alone is worth the $70 donation to the Foundation. It is a great time and the weather is supposed to be beautiful on Sunday.

i highly recommend this event and am sorry that a commitment to attend a family bar-b-que will prevent me from attending. It's always a great time with beautiful views of the world's greatest skyline.

Saturday, August 20: 16th Annual Blues and Brews Cruise

It just wouldn't be a Chicago summer without the Blues and Brews Cruise, a 4 hour spectacular full of great music, filling food, fabulous beers, and fantastic skyline views. We'll be setting sail once again on the Shoreline Bright Star, departing from Ogden Slip promptly at 8 pm (boarding begins at 7:30). This year we're proud to feature the great Larry Taylor Blues & Soul Band, a six-piece crew that cranks out hard-driving West Side soul and traditional blues. Of course, it wouldn't be a cruise without a pig roast (prepared by Smith Farms, Plano, IL), pasta and other great sides from Phil Stefani, and the obligatory tons o' craft beer.

CBS members have already had first crack at tickets via a special members-only mailing, but now sales are open to all. To place your order, print, fill in, and mail the Official CBS Bus & Boat Thingee along with your payment (checks payable to Chicago Beer Society). Tickets are $70 for members, $90 for nonmembers.
