I opened this to talk about our plans on promoting our idea to bring a soccer team to San Antonio.

I think it would be great to come up with a design so we can use it as our official colors/symbol to promote the future team.

The best way to promote it, is by making a poster and hanging them at the different indoor soccer places in the city.

Here's an idea that I had the other day:
    San Antonio Crocketteers
    World class sport
(Big soccer ball in the center)
    World class city
    www.crocketteers.com

    So what's our plan?

in addition to posters, custom scarves with our colors name and logo (crest).

My brother (pro in graphic design) will work on the crest.

    let's discuss ideas here.

I was set on a brown scheme as I try to relate that to the 1830s during the Battle of the Alamo.

I think the incomplete looking Alamo and Crockett's likeness should be present in our crest. Thoughts?

I am also doing heavy searches all over the internet for previous san antonio soccer groups... and I have found some ranging from 7 members to 28 members. Some of those groups (yahoo groups) might be old and not see my message. But it doesnt hurt to try.

You guys can do the same use this standard email message:

That's one of the 1st things that need to be done
maybe... at the end, the team ends up using a different color
but it is extremely important to select the colors and logos to make sure that anytime somebody sees them, they know that it has to do with the Crocketteerss.

I've been in SA for only 6 months, so I don't know much about its history or Texas history, so I'm not gonna be able to help much on that.

Now, something I can help with is finding jerseys of different colors because of my knowledge of international soccer.

Looking at the pictures that you showed, reminded me of Universitario (Peru) known as "El equipo crema" (The "cream" team) their jersey is like a dirty white.
It gives the jersey like an "old look" to it

    For the color brown...
    Trujillanos (Venezuela) use brown/yellow

We already mentioned the "Wolverhampton Wanderers" (England) that have the colors of Shiner Bock

I can't think of any other team that wears brown.
It's not exactly the most popular color in soccer

Thanks for your research. I can see why it's not the most popular color :p
The German team looked decent imo but i know some won't agree.

Didn't Tottenham Hotspur use a third kit that was brown?

Thought I revive this thread with an image:

Here's the link if it doesn't show up in the post: http://blackiguanaroad.files.wordpress.com/2008/05/bi-marfa-alamo-beer.jpg

    See also: http://www.alamobeer.com/

Not sure if someone has come across this picture yet, but based on the colors discussed on the jersey thread, I thought the Alamo Beer Logo may provide some inspiration for a team crest.

Also, as for a motto, I was thinking William Travis' proclamation of "Victory or Death!" from his Alamo letters would provide an adequate battle cry. It's somewhat similar to Philadelphia's motto of "Join or Die," (see http://philadelphiaunion.com/Content1.aspx?cid=1.3) however, it is distinctly San Antonio (though it has been said by others) and provides a link between our city's history and the team's passionate support.

From all the talk we had in the jersey thread,
I think dark gold would be perfect, it kind of looks like light brown, but it looks much better.

Just do a search for "New Orleans Saints gold"
