he missed two good opportunities with a header....

i must say very impressed with villareal defence....gonzalez is a workhorse.....

group D seems like a tough group.... lets go benfica

Ronaldo missed 2 good opertunities(headers) but I think he was the best player on the field for Manchester United Today. He got into the game right in the begging and was demanding 2 defenders. He was completly moves with finess and with accuracy. He created numerous chances for Manchester United including that cross right in the begging to Rooney..

    I think hes backkkkk

I know :( ...I wanted Benfica and Manchester United to advance to the second round. Now it seems only one of them will move on.

The past 2 games for Manchester United he has played well. Nothing exceptional, yet still better then most. He created the first goal in the Charleton game.

I cant really comment on the Seleccao games because i didnt get to see any of them. I read on here that he played well against Croatia.

If you haven't seen him have a good game in a looong time, you probably have not seen him play in a loooong time.

have to agree he aint playing well at the moment but then again.... the second half of the season is where he revs up to be a lethal weapon....

i predict he will have 10 goals by the end of the season.

Ronaldo's first games of the season were brilliant (Aston Villa game anybody?) and he was one of the reasons United won against mighty Chelsea.

I don't think he's been performing that badly. He had a bad month or so between September and October, but he's definitely back to being the player he was, and he'll only continue getting better.

Exactly. Every since the Chelsea game he has looked good!

P.S: To that man that said he would score 10 goals. I am looking for him to put in around 13. Last year he made a bet towards the end of the season with Sir Alex Ferguson that he would net 10 by the end of the season....unfortunalty he only put 8 away...

    Forca Ronaldo!

Exactly, he even scored in Man Utds games against Debrecen (qualifying for UEFA Champions League) he was playing good at the beginning.

And during his bad stretch, was when off-the-field problems came to the fore, his father passing away and faced with rape charges both at once is hard to deal with so thats why he wasn't himself.

But he seems to be regaining form slowly. Forca Ronaldo.

that was me jec 1 :D .... yeah i said it and i dont regret it.... the guy has a knack of having a good second half of the season.

whats three more goals gonna do.... maybe 20 but i doubt it.

exactly promises are made to be broken but thats just stupid saying i will score 10 is like saying i will hit a homerun at first pitch....

ets face it ricardo quaresma is having a better season then the white pearl
    so that says something....

Its a good thing Portuguese people have dignity because when a certain someone, who argued with me that he was guilty but had enough class to admit he was wrong, told me the news......I really wanted to go shout 'I told you so!!!!!' in alot of people's faces.

But since we are better than that, Im just glad the story is over.

    Back to the game.

    Força Cristiano.

He ended up not playing at all. It looked like he was going to be coming in as a sub at halftime because of the horrid play by Manchester United. But Manchester United quickly turned it around and won 2 - 1, and Ronaldo did not play.

Looks like SAF wanted to keep him fresh for the Benfica - Manchester United game

ronaldo still should have played, just imagine - park and ronaldo on either wing!

BOTH have/are two-footed, speed, skill, a GREAT first touch

    Ronaldo has the tricks

    Park has the team-play

it really is the best of both worlds

and when giggs is back - united fans will see a return to the sumptous football that man united are capable of

    a team like this:

    vds

    gary neville-rio ferdinand-wes brown-gabriel heinze

    park-scholes-giggs

    rooney-van nistelrooy-ronaldo

a team like that would beat ANY team in europe on their day...

jec1 - united are in transition, all we need is 3 players - a left back (to assist heinze), one DM (diarra would be perfect), and one AM (Zokora), and we will have a team that will rip to shreds, anybody in europe...
