    Outlook
Replay of a postponed game against a bitter rival for a cup. Although, I wonder if I'm the only one facing a bit of glasnost after TFCs recent actions. I hope I can muster up some hate as the match wears on. The Crew are about to cash in their game in hand matches over the next few busy weeks. Luckily most of those matches are against some sub-par squads while the Crew finds their groove (glimpses were seen in the last few matches including @ Houston playing). The conditioning of the team is the biggest challenge they will have over the next weeks. I hope to think, The squad is deep, the squad is wise, when we're done. And I certainly hope we don't see that annual fall swoon start.

Question: is it planned black attire again? I hope the 15s are still on the jersey and field. I missed the Galaxy game.

    WIWTS
    More. Higuain. More. Arrietta.

note: all votes cast for the original play date will be ignored. Only those votes here will count towards the grouchy totals. Although, some of you always vote the same, so never mind.

I apparently can't add. Can a mod add 5 hrs to the poll?

I haven't been this confident in a win all season.

Very true. It'll be interesting to see the impact that has on Arrieta, who runs his tail off every game.

Okay, just read the PBP of the Houston match thread. I was almost in tears with laughing. It is almost required reading.

Chr1st! Are you getting that uterus before the match on Wednesday?

You'd think there would have to be some roster rotation, yes?I know we are injury depleted, but there is some depth (James, O'Rourke, Mirosevic, Renteria, Finlay, Speas, Gehrig). No way Miranda can make it through this stretch. Is Vukovic or Balchan close to getting ready? DOR at RB? Or James or Mendes.

    -----------------Andy G--------------
    James--Marshall--Mendes--Williams
    ---------------O'Rourke---------------
    Duka----------Mirosevic--------Gaven
    ---------------Higuain----------------
    ----------------Arreita-----------------

Bench: Lampson; Miranda (rest), Grossman, Birchall (rest), Tchani, Speas (I've seen enough from Meram and Finaly to know I want a look a Speas), Renteria.

Rest will have to come soon. My only question is now, TFC, or late with NE. Do you get points as soon as you can and hope later?
Here is another possible lineup where we would not lose a lot but will rest a lot of players.
    ------------------G-Baum---------------
    Gehrig - Marshall - James - Vukovic
    -----------------O'Rourke----------------
    Duka ----------Mirosevic-------Gaven
    ------------------Higuain-----------------
    -----------------Renteria-----------------

I also would like to see Speas. With schedule congestion like this is when players like Speas, Tchani, George, Balchan, Meram, Finlay, Gehrig and Schoenfeld need to step up and contribute.

Correct. Dollar beers, dollar brats and a post-game Autograph Alley. Scheduled to appear are Bernardo Anor, Jairo Arrieta, Cole Grossman, William Hesmer, Julius James, Matt Lampson, Emilio Renteria, Olman Vargas, and Josh Williams.

Apart from Autograph Alley, should Vargas get one more shot on the pitch before we write him off entirely? I've been as unimpressed as the rest of you, and can't get that damned USOC disgrace off my mind. But now that he's not expected, or able to bring speed to the table, isn't there the slightest chance that he links well with his new and speedy teammates? He has scored for his national team since coming to Columbus, right?

None of this even comes up if we're not playing six games in 18 days.

I think so. The Crew are going to need almost everyone to put in their 30 minutes over the stretch. He seems to do better with a strike partner to work off of or pass to. He does not seem to hold the ball well or make his own chances. So how and with whom he plays with, I am not sure.

I'm in talks with a few people, but I might need to let it gestate a bit.

I am sensing something in the Crew that I have not seen in a years, a soul. The Crew have always had heart and some skill but not much soul. It is just a sense and maybe I am tainted by the Urso memorials and Higuain giddiness but I am going with it.
I am sensing for the first huge goal tally of the year, 4-0 area.

Yes this is a huge match. A chance for the Crew to take out some frustration, celebrate Higuain's home debut, captitalize on a half-way healthy squad, and make a move up in the eastern Conf. standings. The playoffs are almost out of reach, this must be the game that sets a new direction.

Speaking of gestation periods - and since this is a Crew Big Soccer pre-game thread, why the hell wouldn't you - does anyone know if Mendoza ever changed his goal celebration?

I was going to reply that he has to score for Atlante (2 goals in 11 appearances) for us to know, but I see he is now with Universidad Catolica and has 3 goals in 2 appearances, so there might be some video somewhere to see him without his thumb in his mouth.

Jardy's tweeting info from RW: Vuko and Milo will be available tomorrow, and to expect changes to the starting lineup due to schedule.

Yet if he didn't make any changes to the lineup we'd be screaming about running the players into the ground without squad rotation.

There are sensible lineup rotations and then there are Warzycha lineup rotations.

True. Some changes will make more sense than others. If we see Finlay in for Miranda, eyebrows will be raised but Mirosevic for Grossman or Birchall or Vukovic in and move Williams to the right seems like valid options. Renteria for Arrieta would make sense too. We will see how odd things get.
